This is bad for the linux and MAC communities as well since what happens when products that work and are advertised for our OS's are removed from the shelves becuase they're not MS compatible.
This will also definately hurt small manafactures who now have to find new sources to display their wares. I think this goes way too far! It's a software dictatorship. We need to hit them with some Shock and Awe or just a good old kick in the arse!
I think it's time to get the states back on MS for this strongarm tactic they're trying to pull. What next gamestop only sells MS games for the PC and Xbox?

Verizon also uses Lucent cell towers in seattle and SF which do not require anything but a few minor components to be replaced at the cell tower and a new software load at the cell processor.
The only other thing in need for the high bandwidth is bandwidth which most cell towers today in urban areas are connected via fiber which is easy to upgrade bandwidth.
But I wrote this story to/. over 12 hours ago and I feel it was a little more than interesting. This guys story is nothing but cut and pastes of 3 sentences in the story. I would think that the relative success of MySql would be a bigger thing on/. since that's exactly what you guys use as your backend.
Come on guys first you cant keep from posting sometimes 2 to 3 duplicates of a story now you have to either makeup stories and users and post them instead of what people are submitting. I run a news site and I post every tidbit of what my readers send about the topics we cover without having to resort to what/. is starting to become a pile of mush.
He mentions none of the interesting things I proposed such as do you think some.com problems are due to the insane prices of NON OSS material such as Oracle or MS software.
On another note how many jobs do state and local governments cut just to pay non OSS license fees? For the price of putting MS office in each cop's car laptop how many more officers could you have defending the public from crooks and terrorists.
Asheron's Call 2 faces more and more pressure to perform. Many players still call it playta becuase of some nagging broken features.
However I do find the frog people thing kinda missplaced in the game. It may not turn out too well with established players with something so un LOTR like in the game since EQ is a Middle Earth type based game. I'll play AC2 and wait for Middle Earth Online which Turbinegames is going to make eventually.
All this will serve to do is force the little guy that had the best deals out of business.
It's a wonder the biggest corporations are voluntarily doing this. I believe that it's only to help get the laws passed so they can see their competition (Small home run units) go out of business.
Anywho I have a MSI KT7 Ultra MB that's buring out power supplies. I've put it in my collection of old computer crap but I'm wondering if i'm a victim. However I dont see any problems with the capacitors and just chalk it up to a bad voltage regulator on the board.
That is by far the most graphical intensive game out there. I have a radeon 9700 pro with 1 gig of ram and compared to 512 and a Gforce 4 Ti4200 was like being in the stone ages.

For the amount of people that attended it they did ask some good questions and the team that's working on SO are a good fun bunch and answered a lot of questions I was surprised they skipped over like other publishers tend to do. Ala Microsoft on any hard question about Asheron's Call or Asheron's Call 2 during their dev chats.
There's going to be a huge unbalance in the areospace industry becuase of this. More furloughs and layoffs will happen. The astronauts on the ISS will probably be shuttled down to the ground on a soyuz capsule and the program shut down until the reliability of the program can be checked. All of our shuttles are over 90 launches and columbia was on 113th flight.
Only long term benefit over this sad loss is the fact that nasa now has the ammo against congress budget cutters for a new launch/return platform.
It's these clowns and voters that agree with stuff like this or just dont live in a real world that cause problems like this.
Every year more and more students from overseas fill our colleges and in most engineering US students are in the far minority. Last month I went with my fiance to go with her to sign up for her last year on her BSEE and guess what. I think she was the only american there.
And seriously some of these people may not like the united states but come here for the education and go back to thier countries and use it against us.
Where do you think Iraq's scientists went to school?
Aside from that what scares me the most is my generation that has no clue about the world and sit around thinking everything is going to be fine. Do you think you'll be able to command a 6 figure engineering job when they can get 4 people for the same price overseas?
But if you think about it and no offense to any hispanics the middle and far east is the cheap labor of the tech sector like mexico and other countries are cheap labor for Textiles and heavy manufacturing and other products.
