He has the mentality for finding ways around security. Be it with technological gagets, or otherwise.
It's a matter of not knowing how, but thinking of how it could be attacked. Security isn't just about plugging holes, it's about thinking about new holes that could be used.
As of 2 weeks ago, Emachine re still around, and useing AMD (1 ghz duron in the one I seen.)
Future shop here in Canada does offer a line with AMD processors, but, they were out of them when I went through there last... so I went to a nice little shop I found and got the parts for a 1 ghz duron and slapped it together myself.
Great animation in US shows.. perhaps, although, style is a personal preferance. Myself, I like some of the styles found in anime mush more than that found in most caroons developed in north america (the exceptsions tend to be the sharp angles styles, like found in batman, or some of the imitation anime.)
But, other things like plot and storyline, something that is found in greater amounts within Anime than in north american shows (although, there are a few damn good ones of of NA, like the one spielburg did... but it was anime influenced). I love a good story, where you can feel for the characters. Cowboy Bebop, Neon Genisis Evangelon, Battle Angel.
As for anime in the mainstream, it's slowly creeping into there, expecially some aimed at children (Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon, Pokemon, Digimon)... heck, I remember watching Astroboy when I was little.
But why is it popular? probably the plot and storylines.
Truthfully, I never knew who he was, but I certainly knew his work... much like everyone of my generation and the generation before, and the generation before that.
He will be missed, for his work, and for the guide his work made for others... sadly, very little is on par with his work, only some of the Hana-Barbara classics (IE Speed Buggy, Scooby Doo) come close.
Rest well Mr. Jones, you deserve to, for helping put a smile on so many faces, so often.
While the technical details must be massive, in computing courses for the transports, the details, likeuseing empty fuel tanks to build the crafts, useing multiple ships etc are practical, rather than send one ship, and say "tough it out".
Of course, the satement about once you go there, you keep going there is one that makes a good point. There's no point in going, in spending all the capital just to do it once, you keep going and keep learning. Who knows where you might end up.
Only time will tell if it's testable... but, I beleive that PaB sends via SSL... so it would just seem like a secure connection, one that's common all across the web for a variey of tasks.
The register has a few details on it too.

From the sounds of it, that wouldn't work very well. It's based on P2P networking, so it would hop between known nodes, and likely have nodes added as other nodes inform your node of them.
So it would show up as a lot of connections to various IP's, not one single bannable IP.
Staff levels are deen differnty from both sides of that blue smock or vest. Trust me on this.
A customer only cares if there's someone there to help them. As a worker, I also know that the shelves need ot be kept organised, that there needs to be shelf lables made, items need to be restocked. Things don't get done, at least a lot of it. While the department managers have close to 2 hours prior to opening to do things... they don't manage to get enough done, and it falls upon other employees to pick up the slack. Have 1 extra employee working a middle of the day shift per 2 department managers (or even 3) would allow a lot more to get done, with only minimal cost increase.
Uh. That's a big violation of company policy. Management can get in serious crap if the employee calls up regional/head office (which they're entitled to). I'd say those employees don't know their rights.
How much retraining is nessisary in changeing from UNIX to Linux?
But I don't think you'll see walmart change to linux, what they have right now (combination of UNIX and NT servers, at least on store level, not sure about central office) works. It isn't broken, so why cut into profits.
ok... have you ever worked there? I have (and still do). While wal-mart is -extreamly- cost conscious, and their prices couldn't be better... they however don't, in my experiance put forth funds in some areas (ie Maitnance, proper staff levels) that they could and should.
No, microsoft would got a lot of money, due to the fact that the source code to windows is owned by them. Someone takes their code and makesa produt, that someone will have a court date.
The rate of piracy varies on quite a few factors:
1) Type of book
2) Cost of book
3) Usefulness of book
But in the end, if it's offered digitally, it will be pirated. even if it's not published digitally, someone will likely scan it in and distrobute it.
Personally, I like ebooks, at least some (I have issues with PDF's, mainly because of the difficulty I have reading them). Have I purchased many? No, far too few selection, and the price is still a touch too high for my likeing. So I browse through the free books. Baen Books ( http://www.baen.com/ ) , a science fiction and fantasy publisher offers quite a few of books formerly released as "loss leaders" in multiple formats (HTML, RTF, LIT, Palm/Psion/Win CE, Rocket Ebook) for free. http://www.baen.com/library/ for anyone that's interested.
Of course there's other repositories of literature, Project Gutenberg ( http://promo.net/pg/ ) being the foremost... the others I can't remember off hand.
Basically, for me free is good, but I'm willing to pay up to around 1/2 the dead tree price if the books good... haven't found any that are that good that I'm willing to hand limbs over though.
Easy. Forgo the use of a positronic brain. Or, alternatively, use the variety of robots that have a weakened first law. I beleive there was one story that mentioned that being done, in secret because the robots were interupting work done by humans in a radiation high envitoment that could be harmful.
Shaw is Rogers main compitition for cable. Sypatico is a general high speed competitor (they deal in DSL)... mainly because they cover more area. No cable net acess here, but had Sympatico aDSL for over a year.
Didn't someone post a ling to their computer (I think it was in reguards to the table case) where all the parts were snap tied to the table?

Atually it isn't. The way Battle net works, you can play it... provideing nobody else is on with the CD key already.

Considering at present you are required to haul that stuff up anyway... plus materials for the hull... you kill 2 birds with one stone.
The would likely be the Spawned copy.. which only woked in network games.

How well the product sells in a given period of time. It doesn't sell well, they won't carry it anymore.

Could also be considered a trade secret. Which means it's protected.

Never! They make rather good coasters, seeing I rarely manage to burn a coaster, gotta use something.

The proper question is does the technology use tantalum, which is the useful part of coltan.
Funny thing... Africa isn't the major producer of the stuff. Australia is, then Africa, Brazil, Thailand, China, Canada and Malayshia.
Although my first thought was "WTF is a
bucky ball?"
Just proves that if the results arn't what you expect, it doesn't mean it's useless...
