You go out and make one of the better scifi movies ever made and then shit all over it when it's released to DVD to support continuity with movies that NO ONE thinks are as good as the originals.

I think that really hits the nail on the head for me. I think no matter what, I would have certain discomfort with making subtle changes to the movie for something like continuity with the old one. But I bet I wouldn't mind nearly as much, if not for the fact that the prequel trilogy is such a piece of shit that it has no right being patched into movies that are actually good. Thanks to his acting in Episode II, I cringe every time I see any shots from Star Wars that involve Hayden Christiensen, and the last thing I want is to think about his whiny ass standing next to ghost Yoda and ghost Obi-Wan. Also, doesn't the new ghost Annikin look like an Old Navy model? He seems really out of place.
  2. The Bennifer Effect on Kevin Smith set for Clerks sequel · · Score: 1

I don't know how many other people felt like me, but after the inane Bennifer stuff in the media, and then the stupid Gigli (which of course I didn't see, but even the media surrounding how bad it was was annoying!), I just could not get myself excited about a movie starring Ben Affleck, and in addition with J-Lo in it, even if she barely had any screen time at all. So I never got around to seeing it, even though I love Kevin Smith movies and have gotten excited about every other one.

That aspect could have hurt the movie a great deal as well, possibly...

Then, when my warranty was running out, I decided to get the extended warranty, and checked the date it was originally purchased and I extended the warranty within a few days of that date, and it went through no problem, nothing about my warranty already being up.

Remember that all their computers come with a year warranty no matter what. During that year you can still buy the AppleCare and extend it out to the full 3 years. So you could theoretically see how you feel about it after a year and if you think AppleCare for two more years is needed.

I don't have a Powerbook, but I do have an iBook, and I've had some hardware problems with it. Every time I have had to take it in I had no hassle with parts replacement and it was totally free. So the care they do provide seems to be pretty good, at least in my experience.

That may be true, though from what Apple says you should be able to rip at 128 kbit AAC and have it still be just as good or better, and then save disk space.

Seven or eight years ago, everyone I knew used ICQ. Gradually, people shifted to AIM. I still don't know how that happened but at some point AIM reached critical mass and most people I knew dumped ICQ entirely.
Well, it probably wasn't 7 or 8 years ago, more like 6 years ago. Anyway, it's not such a big mystery. ICQ came out with a cool free messaging service. AIM didn't even exist yet, and people used ICQ. Then, 6-8 months later, AOL came out with its free messenger, though it was pretty buggy. But it was MUCH more well-known, and slowly as the client became more competent (I didn't say it was good), AIM gradually got bigger and bigger. ICQ had some nice features, but AIM was familiar and did the important thingâ" messaging. And it integrated with AOL so you could talk to your friends who had it. That made a big different too, I imagine.

I think if AOL had come out with AIM before ICQ, then ICQ wouldn't even have gotten as popular as it did.
