Fair enough. I spent enough time on usenet to know you sometimes have to defend yourself. I would just rather not see arguments nested 10-deep when I'm reading at +2.:-)
In my copy, I can't seem to watch the whole movie chonologically; I can only watch one scene at a time. The "feature" is simply that they present you a list of scenes in chronological order.
Did you just hit "play" and watch the whole thing?
I don't understand. What is the problem? With the current scheme, you (1) pay for the resources you use, and (2) don't get taken by surprise when your money runs out. Sounds fair to me.
These kinds of guidelines are great, but the most important thing is to get user feedback regarding usability problems, and take them seriously. Bad user interfaces seem to provoke more insightful, on-target user complaints and suggestions than any internal workings would.
Yep, intolerance is the perfect word for some of the moderators here. How often do you see taglines like "anyone who does XYZ will be moderated as a troll" or "moderating trolls as off-topic is unfair and will be metamoderated as such"? I guess these little Caesars must feel pretty powerless in real life to make them take such a power trip here.
A college degree doesn't necessarily make something/someone viable. So don't accept that just because someone is being taught something, that they'll know all there is to know.
Just stay open to opinions..
Ok, but at the same time, don't discount college degrees as useless. A degree (especially a Master's) does indicate that someone has spent several years thinking about a topic, and being taught by others who have also thought about it. Does that make them infallible? Of course not, but their opinion is worth considering.
I bet this guy's sister could tell you more about usability than "get used to it".
I wish usability were limited only by differences in what individual users were accustomed to, but I don't think that's the case. Some sites just suck.
Beyond 2000 wasn't cancelled until after they dumbed it down and made it extra flashy and shiny. That was too bad.
(I think 22,000mph is relative. Orbit speed is more like 11,000mph, so 22,000 comes from two things travelling toward each other.)
I've never understood why everyone hates Katz so much. But then, I've never made it through one of his articles either.

Dude, if you're going to get into these slugfests, at least have the decency to forego your +1 bonus.

Plus, it would be a big PR gaffe for anyone (even Microsoft) to try to "steal" free code and break the GPL.

I was thinking the same thing. I know this will look silly in a year, but right now that's like saying "my Mustang's modest 5 litre engine".
(Yeah, I have plenty of karma, so I spend it picking on people. :-)
Oh, that. Actually, that's not all that far off the French pronunciation. (croi -> "crwa")
Huh? How do you say it? "Croy-sandwich"?
Redundant? That's a good one. I'll metamod that as +1 Funny.
That can't be right. What happened to the first amendment? (Are you posting from the US?)
...but this is a no-brainer first-amendment case.

(My guess is they meant "10 Human Genomes per second".)
