The original creators/writers of the Onion sold it off a long time ago.
The guy who started it all is now the publisher of The Stranger ( http://www.thestranger.com/seattle/Home/ ), a highly regarded, alternative newspaper for the Seattle area.

Are you sure you don't want to rephrase that a bit?;-)
Time was that the disks/CDs came inside a seperate envelope with the EULA printed on the outside, with a seal sticker that had printed on it that"by breaking this sticker you agree to the EULA"
I used carefully open those envelopes on one of the sides, not disturbing the seal in the least. Of course, I did this purely for the stupid satisfaction it gave me, not out of any belief that it actually accomplished anything:-)
It wasn't neccessarily through neglect that servers weren't patched (not just at MS, but everywhere)
MS patches/service packs have a nasty habit of breaking applications, ESPECIALLY the SQL Server updates. Whenever they release another SQL patch, it takes us a very long time to approve it for use, and it almost always involves some recoding on our part. Repeat this process 20 times a year and it gets damned near impossible.
They do have a security alert service that you can sign up for. I USED TO belong to it, but then one day I suddenly stopped recieving them (with NO notification or explanation).
It turns out that you now have to register for a Passport account in order to recieve their security alerts. They simply changed this and didn't notify anyone who stopped receiving alerts. Oh, I'm sure they put a message up somewhere, but...
I refuse to get a Passport account, so I still don't get them, but I guess I can only blame my stubbornness for that.
You missed the point -
Apple products, including the Macintosh, have nothing to do with apples.
The Compaq Armada is not, and will most likely never be, a fleet of ships.
Microsoft Windows IS software that creates windows.
Not all diamonds are gem quality, and therefore, not as valuable (leaving aside for the moment the debate about the "value" of objects purely because they're shiny). In another life, or at least it seems that way, I was a machinist. Diamond cutting bits are quite common and desirable (for some jobs) because of their hardness. While these tools are more expensive, because they don't use gem quality diamonds, they aren't near as expensive as you would think.
It's doubtful that any gem quality diamonds would ever be used for chips.

Already did that... but it's really hard to type anything into the console because the cursor keeps moving around on the bottom of the screen! ;-)

At the time, that Ming vase (PARC's GUI) had no real value. The market for it simply didn't exist yet.
Bad analogy (as if there were anoy other kind).
Indeed you can. I'm actually quite happy to have been wrong here. Thank you...

"This year alone, 92 million taxpayers will receive an immediate tax cut"
The part he left out is, the reason the figure is 92 million is, they're the only ones who still have jobs.
Are you sure about that?
They could always sell them to Mac users.
(Only joking. I am a Mac user.)
"Microsoft Bob...HAHAHAHA! Now THAT was funny. I would love to know who greenlighted that one - probably heading Microsoft Iceland right about now.
Actually, it was Bill's wife, Melinda Gates' idea, believe it or not.
I'm guessing he didn't send her off to Iceland...
At least, not for that
But, it was, like, a really good paper ;-)
Oh great, and now you've just lead them STRAIGHT TO US!
Damn... I've got to pack QUICKLY!!!
So... you're saying that a V6 can outperform a V8 with the same MHZ rating? ;-)

Because eventually, someone's going to make a joke about running a Beo...
Nope.. it's not gonna be me!
Ok, I'll give him this one. I'll freely admit to being a bit of an RMS basher, but he won a few points with me here. Credit where credit is due...
You're fooling yourself. We're living in a dictatorship, a self-perpetuating autocracy in which the working classes ...
Sorry... wrong movie...
Excuse me, but are you lost?
If you just ask, I'm sure someone here can help you find the MS forum that you seem to think that you're in.
Which distribution? ;-)
Ahem... Libraries... Oops.
I believe the actual standard for this is supposed to be the number of Libaries of Congress that would fit.
.. or better yet, by disabling Windows entirely ;-)
