Problem is that they dont - they dont need to since the only elected officials within the EU machinery are the members of the european parliament and they are completely powerless compared to the european commission. The european union is turning into an institution of navel-gazing nitwits who are gladly spending its citizens hard earned cash on various pointless projects and policies. Responsible fiscal policy is struck down since this means "harmful competition" to its larger and incredibly inefficient member states. I left the EU for a place that still respects the individual (no - not the US - the US is even worse than the EU) and Im never going back.

Anything like that out there? - I dont like SWT - it may be fast but I dont like the motif downsides when running on linux (irritating to have to use imwheel for mouse wheel support + the poor documentation of SWT).

PS. If you're thinking of responding to this with one of those "use c - java is crap" responses, dont bother. Just accept that Java is big in some sectors - especially the finance industry. Continuous derading of Java actually hurts the free os'es (as in beer/speech) since this - the support for Java - many times is the main requirement for companies in the finance industry. I've seen FreeBSD/OpenBSD/NetBSD fall on this hurdle so many times - please dont kill Linux this way. Just accept that usefulness of Java varies depending on the specific needs for that user. /m

This method only could have worked in the Soviet union - unfortunately wang was in the US marketplace and subsequently suffered from their own moronic tactics.

I would be surprised since the concept and practice of patterns _AND_ antipatters existed long before sun decided to provide them to developers. Tate did not invent the concept of Antipatterns - antipatterns make up an established way of learning from other peoples mistakes in a more structured way.
