Microsoft finally pulls off the release of a mostly decent product (W2K) and now they get broken up. I never thought I'd be saying this, but "poor Bill".
Super Mario Bros. is violent. In real life, you wouldn't believe how many turtles I stomped on and kicked. I finally learned my lesson when one bounced back at me off that sewer pipe in the back yard, though.
Calm down. It was a script kiddie exploiting a minor problem in the comments code causing the page not to render, which CowboyNeal fixed within seconds of finding out about it. If anything, blame your web browsing software.
Plug from an Otakon staffer: Both the creator and character designer for Lain will appear at Otakon 2000, the East Coast's biggest anime convention, located in Baltimore, MD
Damn, I'm only about a 5 minute walk away from the Convention Center! Consider it marked on my calendar!
The H+ is probably the best DVD/MPEG decoder board out there for the PC today. If you have a Creative DXR3 board (which is basically a rebranded H+), you'd probably be covered by these drivers as well.

If you purchased an iopener via Netpliance's online store, be sure to check your statement for any "extra" charges from them. After their initial $138.95 charge on 20-Mar-2000, I also show a charge of $19.11 from them on 24-Mar-2000, which is presumably their Internet service (which I never signed up for).

The phone number, username, and password mentioned is hard-coded into each iopener. Check/var/dsm/d0/nvram.acap. For all intents and purposes, the PPP connection it throws at you behaves as a standard dialup. Can you say "whoops"?
While you can connect the DC to a SVGA monitor (Mmmm.. Soul Calibur), all the audiovisuals on the site were taken with just a TV capture card (Hauppauge WinTV) and my good old Sound Blaster 16.
For anyone who's interested, here's a quick screenshot tour of Sega's included Web Browser. (Note: They have released a much faster and less buggy upgrade to the browser, look on DC Mag disc, March 2000. If you want a free 1.1 browser GD shipped to you, go here.)
I really hope Sega can pull this off. Regardless of what's coming around the bend, Dreamcast is a great system.
It's fun to take apart too. Here's some pictures of my DC with a blue power LED that I soldered in to commemerate its compatibility with a Microsoft product (WinCE).
Most mail abuse problems can be solved by dial-up based providers blocking access for their users to port 25 for anything outside of their network, thus ensuring that the mail has to (theoretically) come through their local mail servers.
If you happen to have a supported PC-based DVD player, Remote Selector (an extremely lightweight windows program) will allow you to disable region checks and macrovision. It works flawlessly with my Creative DXR3 decoder card.
The DXR3 card has a Video Out port right on it, so it's perfect for plugging into your VCR if you're into that sort of thing.
If you're using Netscape with JavaScript, this page should help you (and me, if I had a motive to do so) remember your slashdot password.

Maybe their tests of other OSes didn't pan out very well.
I pulled down everything on wiretap's gopher a LONG time ago. I guess it's time to dig out the floppies.
I mean, we all saw what happened over the weekend.. Right?

We all know why the government invaded that house...

Forget the .rob TLD, just register "rob.banc" and "rob.shop" when they become available. Much better play on words.

As long as this book is digitized and put online, I'll be happy.
That just made my day. (:

It's just silly. Very, very silly.
And that's my final answer.
Look again...
