Does it really matter how fast/slow someone reads on a ebook reader? Shouldn't it matter more how MUCH MORE we read with them? I have a JetBook http://www.jetbook.net/ and I read more now for the simple reason that I can take my reader anywhere with me, and it's not a big clunky 1000 page book that I can't fit into my bag.
My ebook reader is one of my favorite electronic gadgets that I've purchased lately. It's fantastic!
And to think that when I was in school, we could take a knife with us as long as the blade was under 6", we had a smoking area in HS and if we got caught smoking pot in the bathroom, the teacher would flush it down the toilet and call our parents. We could buy sodas for lunch, bring whatever we wanted as far as food. Oh yeah, my "walkman" got confiscated once, I got it back at the end of the day tho...I also wore tshirts to school proclaiming "Yngwie F*cking Malmsteen that's who!"
I wish I still had my pee chee folder that had the knife rules on it...it would be hilarious.

I went for about 10 years with no insurance. Granted, I'm single w/no kids, but I did run into a few medical problems. I just went to my local clinic and it didn't cost me anything.
When I found a job that offered health care, I signed up. Last year I discovered a lump in my neck which wound up being Medullary Thyroid Carcinoma, which I've had 2 surgeries for, and the 2nd surgery also took care of an Adenocarcinoma on my left salivary gland. 2 rare forms of cancer, an autoimmune disease, and the latest is uterine fibroids. $33 every pay check and a deductible of $2500 a year and my insurance 100% pays for anything after $2500. I paid $1700 for the first hospital stay, but $0 for the 2nd surgery, including hospital.
I would never trade my PPO for Government run healthcare, because as we know, they can't even manage Medicare. I could have died of my cancers if I had to depend on the Government to decide if I needed treatment or not. We all know how quick it is to get through the DMV don't we?
but I can tell you first-hand that it doesn't work that way for females. We have to put in twice as much work to build muscles due to lower testosterone levels, and people tend to look at you weird if you're muscle-bound. Having muscle tone, and adequate strength is much better than building muscle mass, thanks to societal pressures... and that comes from cardio..
Bullshit. I too am a woman, and 41 years old at that. Women don't build large muscles like the men from weightlifting, we get toned and have smaller muscles, because as your post stated we lack the testosterone. Unless of course you're taking steroids or working out 6-8 hours a day. I have cancer and an autoimmune disease, I take medication for my missing thyroid (cancer surgery) which will probably cause me to develop osteoperosis as I age. So, weights will help me keep bone density and keep me strong as I age. I don't give a fuck how big my arms and legs get, the 1 hour every other day won't make me look like a bodybuilder, but at least my upper and lower body will be evenly toned. Unlike running alone.

A friend of mine used to run a Pirate BBS and he always managed to get a releasing group to upload Beta version of Win95 to his board. Win95 Beta B was the best and most stable release I was ever able to pirate. Unfortunately, it was timestamped and stopped working shortly after C came out. Then came the official release which sucked. IIRC there was 3 major beta releases A B and C that he received and all sucked except B. It was the only one that wouldn't crash on me. I rue the day I ran windows and my BBS at the same time, I should have stuck with DOS.
Now my telnet BBS and Linux ran fine, except for DOSEMU would hang on Door games once in a while.
So what do they do for people that don't have computers in their cars?
I have 3 cars made in 1966 (Ford Mustang) and two in 1968 (Ford Mustang and Chevy Suburban). I don't own a new car and unless they outlaw old cars I will never own a car made after 1969.
So old car fanatics like myself get to bypass this tax then I assume.
I've been using it for quite some time too...Never a problem. Ran web, ftp and telnet servers w/no issues. Works great on my Terabyte USB drive too...Music plays fine as does video. But, since I do have a windows machine I use FAT on my USB drives...Just in case.

Early this morning I was woken up by the sound of my answering machine resetting itself because the power went off then came back on. When I got up, I was in a panic, "My computer is turned off!" After taking my dogs for a walk and noticing the elec company trucks all over the main street, I realized what was going on. When I got back, everything was up and running. I had to load up Vuse (Azureus) and get those torrents running again. I have a ratio to maintain ya know!;-)
living w/out the net for 90 days is no option for me.
I bought the original Sims, and all the expansion packs. I enjoyed playing the game, so when Sims 2 came out, I bought the game, but it's more of the same, with upgraded graphics. I didn't bother purchasing any of the expansion packs for 2, and the chances of my buying 3 are slim to none. I love Morrowind and Oblivion, but at least there's some differences in those two games. There wasn't much between Sims 1 and 2.

Ah, I live with 2 ex-feral cats. They make wonderful pets. one is 12 now the other almost 10. The older one I brought home at age 1 and the other at age 3 months.
After all of these years of living with them, I still have a house.
Oh yeah, and I also captured two ferals from a colony I used to feed, to take them to FOCUS and get them spayed/neutered. The male, well he was wild, the female was not so much. I kept them overnight and my boss picked them up and kept them at her house overnight the next day after surgery. When we let them go, the female hung out in the office until the place closed down, but the male was so pissed, he disappeared and we never saw him again. Ever try to trap a feral cat? They know how to thwart those capture cages, I watched one step over the part of the cage that would trigger the door so she could eat the fish. She carefully backed out when she was done. She had never seen a trap before either. This is why I only managed to get two of them.
I was getting these 3x a week...One day, I figured I'd play along. My 3 cars consist of:

I told them the make and models, several of them hung up...One asshole, started an argument that I didn't have cars that old...He eventually told me to fuck off and hung up. I laughed for days about that.
Now if I could only get rid of the carpet cleaning ad, as I have no carpets, ripped them all out and tiled the entire house...But they call when I'm not at home and don't leave a number.
