  1. Midnight Club 2 on Too Much Gaming, Anyone? · · Score: 1

When I finally used my car (after a 3 day weekend of playing Midnight Club 2, 24/7) I realised how slugish my Jetta's performance was.

Still, the 65mph speed limit seemed extremely restrictive.

Being stopped at a red light, meant that I was about to get a green signal and the foot HAD to hit the floor.

    Those were dangerous times.

  2. DVD/VCR or Microwave? on Top 25 Innovations of the Past 25 Years · · Score: 1

I can't say that I know when these items first hit it big, but they are definately a part of modern life and they were certainly innovative at the time.

  3. How space stations work on ISS Oxygen Generator Fails · · Score: 2, Informative

I was curious about the "Elektron Oxygen Generator" and found a brief description
    here:

    1. The Russian Elektron generator will make oxygen by splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen (electrolysis).
    2. Solid fuel oxygen generators or oxygen candles will be burned to make additional oxygen, if required.
    3. The space shuttle or Progress supply ships will bring nitrogen from Earth, and store it in external tanks on the station.
    4. In later phases of construction, external tanks will supply oxygen; these tanks can be refilled by the space shuttle. In the final stage, an additional electrolysis oxygen generator will be added to the station.
    5. The pressure control assembly (a system of pumps and valves) will mix the nitrogen and oxygen in the right percentages, monitor the atmospheric pressure and depressurize the station when necessary to prevent overpressure or to extinguish a fire during an emergency.

  5. Evolution Calendaring on Client/Server Calendar Program? · · Score: 2, Interesting

Evolution calendaring works well, and I believe the print options are acceptable too. I haven't had the best of luck with the DAV interface to an ics calendar file, but the support is present.

I don't like X, and will kill you if you ever suggest X again.

Is this different? What happens after you suggest X again? What if I don't kill you?

What's the crime in exageration or ellipsis?

Perhaps, I did kill you... metaphorically, from my list of people respected for their view on X.. Perhaps this is all an example of acceptable free speech, but when I replace 'you' with 'the president', should I expect the SS to knock at (down?) my door?

How do they pull energy from other resources? That reminds me of Star Trek, "reroute power from the main deflector!"

Actually, Kino has a live preview of effects at a reduced frame rate. Depending on your horsepower this may work.

I think Mencoder may actually be ready for doing this sort of thing. Check into it.
