altruism , concept in philosophy and psychology that holds that the interests of others, rather than of the self, can motivate an individual. The term was invented in the 19th cent. by the French philosopher Auguste Comte, who devised it as the opposite of egoism. Herbert Spencer and John Stuart Mill, English contemporaries of Comte, accepted the worth of altruism but argued that the true moral aim should be the welfare of society, rather than that of individuals.
First of all, their will ALWAYS be volunteers! When the economy sucks, their will be volunteers. When the economy is good their will volunteers. Open source started before the boom. In times of a down economy isn't their more of an incentive to help each other out? I honestly don't care what IBM is doing with linux, as long as people are still helping out freely. So there.
I donate to, but I am not rich (more like lower middle class). Is Bill a better person than me because his donation far outweight mine? His donation is just a drop in the bucket for him.
A man with 72 bathrooms is nothing more than greedy.
The thing I like about it, is the fact that they've been preaching for everyone to stay updated and blaming them (if something goes wrong) if they aren't updating their servers. Sounds like they need to subscribe to their own service. NIce.
Actually, I think it has nothing to do with either but is based on the fact that people love listening to themselves talk more. In fact the amount of people who love listening to themselves is projected to rise 6% in 03. Coincidence?:-)
And what's worse is that everyone is complacent and thinks its perfectly normal!! The Green Party wants seperation from corporations and government. They take no campaign money from corporations!! For more info on the green party visit: http://www.greenpartyus.org/
#1. People can't tell that it is not a gas driven car
Here is an easy test you can do for that. Put you mouth up to the tail pipe and if you don't get a mouth full of water vapor you know your still using gas.

In the mean time you can support the detroit project.. Its great, you can help make fun of the Bush administrations "marijuana helps terrorists" campaign and bash SUV owners at the same time:-)
Ummm, well if you'd bother to surf their site you would have noticed that they have a whole section of video clips addressing 9/11 issues. Watch them. They are really good.
Take off you visors and open you eyes.
oh yeah, I forgot how much better the economy got after the first time Bush lowered taxes. Its not worth taking on the dept right now. His new tax plan would give a rebate of 36% if you make over 300 thousand a year (and we wonder why the rich get richer and the poor get poorer). If the business climate allows more companies like Enron to fester and continue I don't want it.
And come on you know if you were married to Hilary you'd be cheating on her too:-).
I as well (believe it, or not) would prefer a Libertian candidate. We do have to many prohibation ways still lingering after all these years.
Anyways, thanks for biting:-)
