I agree completely. I was old MUDer back in the day and played quite a bit of Diablo(1 and 2) as well. WoW seems to combine the feel of those two experiences in wonderful 3D splendor. I ended up taking last friday off of work and dedicated the entire weekend to playing. I ended up sleeping a grand total of like 10-12 hours from thursday-sunday. Usually 10-12 hours is what I sleep on friday night(saturday afternoon?) alone. This game is like crack and heroin all rolled up in a fatty blunt. I'm going to go crazy this weekend with anticipation.

I also agree with your suggestions and I did notice a few bugs even last night(such as stuck "in combat" and can't eat) and I do anticipate more to crop up in the first month or two. Overall though, I think the game already feels much better put together than some other games *cough*SOE*cough* that will continue to be paid beta for the foreseeable future.

So thank you Blizzard. I can't wait for my panda. :)

I'm a 25 year old(adult?) who drives to work. I've owned a GB, GBC, GBA, and now an SP. My main play time comes during lunch break and in the crapper. Thankfully the SP is so small that it's always in my pocket so I'm able to find other brief little periods of play time(like in the line to vote). That's why I'm not buying a DS(right away). The DS is just too big to carry all of the time. I can't be as spontaneous with it as with my SP. The other reason it will be a while before I get a DS is price. I only got the SP because of the price drop to $80 and the fact that I could trade in my GBA(couldn't sell it). Not that I can't trade in my SP too, but I love the size and the fact that it can still play all of my old greyscale GB carts. Maybe someday if they get the DS down to $99 I may splurge on it but it can never replace my SP. When Nintendo announces a true SP successor is when I'll get truely excited.

Doom3 might just need the bandwidth that only the top of the line FSBs can provide. Something to think about....

Everyone talks about the Dominion War episodes being the best of DS9 but the characters are what made that show. I think a lot of the best episodes were based on taking any two characters and sending them off in a runabout on some zany adventure. Especially when involving non-federation characters.

Seriously though, MS doesn't need to patch their pirated software if they don't want to. Besides, if you really want a pirated version of Windows that can be patched then just use Win2K. I use WinXP and OfficeXP on my desktop because MS gave me free copies at their events, but I turn off or don't use all the crap they added from the 2000 versions anyway. Windows2000 is still the best MS has to offer and doesn't require you buy it to stay up to date(even though you should).

It reads like a press release because I'm too retarded to make up anything original. Sure there are tons of newer and "better" games out there. This patch is special not just because it's a Blizzard game, but because it's a free patch that adds NEW features to a game that is five years old. Rip on Blizzard all you want, but most games are lucky if they're supported after the first year of being released. Blizzard basically /.ed their own game servers today to release new features for a game that not only doesn't bring in $14.95 per player/month, but only sells for about $29.99 retail. Who's really gonna buy Diablo II these days anyway? This release is a "thank you" from Blizzard to all their loyal fans. Sure Blizzard is known to make mistakes, but no company that has to support as many copies as Blizzard sells can put out the kind of quality gaming experience that they do.
