  1. Re:Sony, PS3, and BluRay on Sony Pushes Back Release For Blu-Ray Players · · Score: 1

*Webbrowsing in 1080p on your HD TV monitor and other desktop apps that you run in 1600x1200+ (higher than 1080p) on your PC

Widescreen 1080p is 1920*1080, which equals 2073600 pixels.
    1600*1200 equals 1920000 pixels.

So, 1080p on a widescreen television is slightly higher of a "resolution", if you're counting pixels. Still though, any modern video card will easily push well beyond this, thus validating your point.

Performance is an issue. So are available packages. My backend is postgresql and I need whatever language I use to have an extremely capable and flexible and mature postgresql DBI.

From the standpoint of integrating a website/database, the database will always be your substantial performance bottleneck, unless your code is utter garbage. PHP, Python, or Ruby are all adequate for this task.

The biggest thing you can do for performance is design a Normalized database, and to make sure there is proper indexing for all the queries you run. If you put adequate research and effort into these areas, you'll see better performance gains than putting any effort into rewriting code.

That's like saying the iPod is in trouble because they've come out with four revisions of it. You need to understand that the Gameboy is at such a point of market saturation that they can be constantly revamping and updating their handheld and this is what works for them and has worked for them in the past decade.

I'm not showing a bias towards Nintendo here, but given Sony's shoddy track record of quality, would you honestly want to tote around a piece of Sony hardware?

How many of you are on your second PS2 or PS? Practically everyone I know has had to replace their original PS, and a good bit of PS2s are starting to die out as well. First generation Sony hardware has a tendancy to break after awhile.

Treadmills and the Stationary Bike remove fat and impove stamina, while a bench and dumbells just increase muscle. More muscle, more stamina, and less fat are all very good things. Might have something to do with the fact that everybody in the history of the world would take a job where they get paid to play video games? Seriously though, I know the pay isn't all that great, but game tester would probably make a great job to work through college.

be careful upgrading, as the semantics regarding object assignment have changed from copy to reference. i know some of my code would make use of the old copy-on-assignment semantics.

Which is why it may suffer problems with a lot of hosting companies upgrading and adopting PHP5 initially. Its seems like 90% of the borrowed code and available projects out there tend to be class based (even though most small projects don't necessarily need to be done in OOP, but this isn't an argument I'm going to delve into), which may subsequently become broken if said hosting company were to upgrade to the new version. Then again, one could always compile both versions to use different extensions like .php4, .php5...

Losing the iPod is a small fish compared to iTunes.

Not exactly. ITMS's existance is only justifiable through the iPod. Apple isn't making a profit on iTunes. When you factor in the 20-45% profit they nab on the iPod, you can quickly realize that the main reason iTunes Music Store (currently) exists is to sell iPods.
