fact1: its a mess of wires, batteries and other things stapped to multiple bridges and other choke points in your city. youve recieved multiple calls in the last 20 minutes, from all reaches of the city, its rush hour and youve just had your first coffee.

fact2: YOU DONT KNOW THAT ITS A STUPID FUCKING MARKETTING STUNT. YOU OBVIOUSLY ARE NOT AWARE HOW PR AGENCIES WILL RECKLESSLY TRY AND "BREAK BOUNDRIES"

    fact3: you make the call

result: you blow the fucking piece of shit ad farts toy to fucking glass, round up the "masterminds" for interrogation, and try and learn WHY THE FUCK they though strapping fake bombs to bridges was a cool idea...

aparently people see some problem with this order of events and find it funny. Like this is what we pay government officials to do. This is perhaps the one instance that I have heard of a genuine terrorist hoax being played out PERFECTLY by local government.

yet every fuckign blog rewards and respects these fucking tools. please explain why

"the really bad stuff that can happen is pretty uncommon"

Interesting. As a pessimist, I see things that would require a "go bag" as not worth planning for. If things ever got that bad you would have to reanalyze your options and odds are you would have made bad guesses (who needs money if society collapses?). Its much more common for not so bad stuff to happen, but that stuff is still very stressful. Could be something as simple as planning a party. You cant just assume that everyone will come, people will all get along, your neighbours wont complain etc. You need to come up with many plans so that, say, the two people you least wanted to come are your only guests, then you can still have fun. When it all goes correctly, you are seeing a few moves ahead of every one else in multiple directions and can react accordingly. I wouldnt consider the route I take in the morning "contingincy planning" you just pick the fastest route possible.

Pessimism is more like constantly building sentances in your head on the off chance that someone says the right combination of triggers, and you can make a funny comment.

"Globalisation is an inevitable consequence of a levelling of the playing field (Indian programmers can now compete with US ones; good for them) due to falling costs of transporting goods and information."

yes and thats how it should be. people shouldnt make more in america then people in nigeria. the problem is that thats not how the US thinks. you see the US has these things called tariffs. now when you are able to produce somethign cheaper and easier in a poor country, as an american can produce, america will slap a tax on it. this is so americans can afford Rx drugs, reality tv shows, SUV's and other sorts of soma.

if it was really a "globalized" world, south american farmers would make 5cents an hour BUT SO WOULD AMERICAN FARMERS. and the cost of living world wide would equal out to somewhere way under the poverty line, with corporations being our feudal lords.

im sure if you actually read any of Gabriel Garcia Marquez's books, you might have a better understanding of other cultures in which to base these sorts of observations on.

  11. the fate of humankind on Kazaa Backs Plan To Bill P2P Music Transfers · · Score: -1

the reason p2p apps are the future is rooted in most sci fi novels. a large database that contains everything that has ever been recorded/pen'd/drawn and otherwise turned from a thought into something concrete. what the hell is wrong with that? why cant i say, 'computer i want a live 1965 recording of lay lady lay by bob dylan' and have the computer search and the retreive that. THAT IS THE FUTURE. maybe maybe because we all love to be so capitalist they could charge a fee (like the beureu of information or something) to have access to this database. EXACTLY like a library (the greeks had it right for sure) except online and digital and instant. we should stop doing things for personal gain and start doing things that benift humankind as a whole.

  19. Re:The overinflated windbags intelectual Fallacy on U.S. Imposes Big Tariffs On Korean Chipmakers · · Score: 0

you are speaking of monopolies being formed. the us and otherland are not two entities in a closed system. otherland (i assume you are american so i will state this) consists of MANY other lands (or companies). thus as someone else stated, there is way to many competitors in the marketplace for any one company to have complete control over the ram market. Also, the now defunct dram manufacturer, seeing the prices go up a theoretical 800%, decides its just the right time to begin selling dram again. thus the capitalist model is self correcting... well fancy that.
another point is that if you switch otherland to USA that is EXACTLY why so many people hate you guys, for driving mom and pop businesses out of the way to make room for the next walmart/bestbuy who sells useless shit at even cheaper prices.
