On the one hand, without the influx of money from car commercials it would not be possible to have television as we know it (certainly rather than scale back profits they would scale back any semblance of quality or competence). On the other hand, without the car $$ it would also not be possible for major league baseball to continue to be a viable business (every major sport has TV revenue but only baseball has the empty stadiums). So I have mixed feelings as per usual.

So I think you are correct, but not in the dumb joke you were trying to make - if the Nazis had taken over and consolidated the area it would have peace. Of course, their idea of consolidation was total and worldwide so that would never work. But it doesn't stop George from trying to do it on a smaller scale.

Some would say the intentions of a suicide bomber and those of a less-than-competent Israeli unit are irrelevant if the result is the same (civilian casualties). Don't know what to tell ya, I got my 624 from verizon in january and it is a POS. Some say it has to do with wireless interference causing it to automatically reconfigure to a new channel (and thus reboot) periodically, but I have not had any luck trying to tackle it from that angle.

And let me warn you: the D-link router is a POS. It reboots itself way too much (daily at a minimum, compared to never with my old Linksys). Very painful when you play WoW or work at home. I finally got around to switching back to the Linksys I had, but I had to get rid of the Sveasoft firmware I'd installed in order to get above 4mbps (and get 15mbps). It turns out the Linksys gets almost 1mpbs better throughput than the D-link in my tests as well, so if you get fiber do yourself a favor and ditch the D-link. Oh sure, you could go the customer service route, but I for one am too lazy to sit there pretending to empty my temp internet files while some stooge reads a troubleshooting script.

By "way" I mean usually double the download speed. And for me it's cheaper than cable was by $10/mo, which is wonderful. Obviously you can hit some bottlenecks outside anyone's control, but these are actually pretty rare. Also, it's probably not relevant, but I also have a much more consistent low latency connection to the World of Warcraft servers now. I think that's more of an issue with the shared-bandwidth nature of the cable connection I had though. Anyway, that AT&T guy is incorrect as far as I can tell about there being no discernable difference, the difference between 1.5 and 6 is noticeable and from 6 to 15 is huge.

But now that Family Guy is alive again on FOX they probably said "you know what, we get new DVDs to sell either way, and FG is doing all right, lets just bring Futurama back and stick it in some out-of-the-way time slot, nothing to lose". And thus I predict that the show will get screwed by FOX again....
