The companies also disclosed that Sony Online had acquired Warner's "The Matrix Online" game. All 25 staff members currently operating the subscription-based massively multiplayer online game have been offered their existing position under the new ownership.
Sega of America will continue to manage distribution of "The Matrix Online," while Warner will oversee content development and relinquish operational involvement. Ubisoft withdrew from its involvement with the property in early 2004.
What exactly this means for Live Events, I don't know. I would imagine they'll still exist, but with SOE's attitude, I dunno how good they'll be.
I thought about a year or so ago, Jason Hall (CEO of Monolith) came on in charge of WBE and then WB promptly purchased Monolith. I can only assume this was a pre-arranged deal to do with MxO as it was under development for several years, so Monolith was expecting something for the work.
I don't belive WB would just spit Monolith & the Matrix name out to there arch rival so soon after launch, I'm almost sure they'd rather it die before doing this.
For my own use, I don't need anything connected to anything else, so I use a 11 year old copy of Expresso by Berkley Systems (Yes, the After Dark guys), as it has a calander with various views, a to-do list and a names and numbers list, with an alarm facility, and the best bit is when you close it it 'snapshots' itself into a background bitmap, so I can see it all day, when I don't have anything open.
It has themes, and does everything I want, using about 3 Mb ram. I wonder if it was ever updated, or newer versions released. My says C 93 - 94.

Should I state the obvious here.....
MMORPG, Typing, mouse use... hmm.. now why,oh why would they not put it out for Xbox & Playstation..
UO definatly has this, and I would have assumed other MMO games to be the same, with the game account being compleatly seperate to the game itself. The guy purchased the game WoW, but from the sound of it DIDN'T purchase the account. I have multiple copies of the various UO's at home (myself and my wife play) and I could easily sell 'the game' and happily keep the account.
Sound's like this guy got taken by a slick conman. I assume the purchaser involved didn't know these facts about MMO's and assumed the game would let him in.
Anyone remeber the various ebayer's who sold box's of xboxs/ibooks with nothing in them, but just worded it just so.....
I can't belive no-one has yet mentioned the cremation that was heald for Ultima Online 2 after it was cancelled, I belive at Richard Garriot's estate too..
And I think there was one for OSI after EA gobbled it up, but then again I might have just been high....
On my Asus 2500D notebook it runs great at 800 X 600 at Medium graphics, and it runs ok. Not that great a game (mumble, mumble... God damn dark, Torch, Hitbox incositancies, weapon damage variations..)
With these few niggles fixed it could be a good or evan great game, but never as revered as Doom. Nowdays, ID make great 3D Engines and this is a pretty good demo for there work.
Heres all the details on the twining development, distruction and even Lord British's take on everything, here we go:

Freaking typical, mind you we only see a nutered version of tech TV, no anime, no wired for sex and several other shows. its basically cal for help, screen savers, X-play and a few others on rotation.
Yay! now my techbench at home/work can have somewhere other than a blank wooden board as a testbeanch machine:) I regularly swap out componants on my home server, and testing 20 motherboards can get really, really fucking annoying putting them in and out of a case, so this is a great item for techs like me:)
P.S. the server is stored in a plexifronted shelf under my workbench, runs at 55 C but for NSW, Aus thats not a bad temp, and the munchkin can smack it as much as she wants:)
Ditto... I know I stubled onto something like this comparing linux distros, and it did have a section for these ones too, but danged if I can find it now. Can anyone help ?
Your one of those sick fucks that actually voted for Bush, ain't you... you rant like a lunatic.
You may think he's wasting his life, but its a good living, and what people take away from his games is up to them. The parents of these kids really don't seem to be doing there job, and American culture (if you can us thoses 2 words together without vometing)is such its not the poor parents to blame but everyone else and wheres my settlement.
It this sort of thing that makes the rest of the world look down on USA, and in some cases openly hate them.
P.S. I ain't no commie, and I ain't from US, but I can see it going to heck in a handbasket.
P.P.S. Bush sucks, and is an evil, stupid warmonger....
BBC has just announced that filming on a new Dr Who will begin in November with Richard E Grant in the main roll. His new story the Scream of the Shalka will be very different, It will debut on the internet www.bbc.co.uk/cult/drwho before being released on dvd and it will be animated. Richard played Dr Who in Dr Who and the curse of fatal death, a spoof story made for charity.
John Howard is acting more and more as one of Bush's little lackeys, first with considering a trade agreement that will force australia to reduce local content on TV (and open up more time for US shows), lately marching into and illegal war for no other reason than USA asked him to (more likely said or else!)
Bah... And people wonder why the public is so dissolusioned with Pollies. they allmost all nowdays seem to be either yes men for Howard , Idiots or Cranks.... I wish some real people would run for election (and rule that PM can only stay in power for 2 terms), but we can only dream.
Agreed, thats the way the Americans want to push things. Look at plastic surgery, where did it take off big time ?? Good old US of A... This IS heading is towards Gattaca....
An oldie but a goodie:
Spaceward Ho!
Can be hard to track down, but halarious gameplay and the more the merrier.

5:30am, Friday the 17th, a sad, sad day for MxO players everywhere.

I sure do hope anyways, cause god I hate SOE.

ANyone here read Micheal Criton's TimeLine ?
Covers this pretty well and he used real theories like this one.
