Personally, I would love to have a version of Dynalist or Workflowy that I could host locally, for similar use - tracking tasks and task information, but not out there on the Intertoobz. Anyone know of such a tool?
In Vegas you have a situation where people want to go all over the place. Some may want to go to the convention center, but they also want to go where they are staying - which could be anywhere.
But the Vegas monorail isn't even useful if you just want to go up and down the Strip - because it doesn't actually run up and down the Strip, it runs up and down the back sides of the casinos, meaning the stops are actually like a quarter-mile away from the Strip. Walking or taxis end up being easier.
I wonder how well the degreed developers do vs. the non-degreed ones, when it comes to career longevity, opportunities for advancement to lead or management positions, more deeply technical positions involving system architecture, etc. Computer science isn't all about coding JavaScript.
On the one hand I agree with your argument. On the other, it's the reason why a lot of the US has poor internet speeds. Maybe "a company can continue to be profitable" isn't sufficient. I think the consumer impact/benefit needs to be considered as well. I wouldn't argue turning off FM provides much consumer benefit though.
In market economies, consumer impact/benefit is generally what determines whether a company can continue to be profitable. If there's no benefit, customers won't pay, so there's no profit. The thing to remember, however, when it comes to commercial radio, is who the "customer" actually is (hint: it's not the person listening to the radio, unless it's a subscription service like SiriusXM).
You should begin that with: The Nazi bomb (threat) begat the US bomb. They were working on one, then put it aside because you cant occupy countries that you've turned into glass, and the Nazis were all about conquest. But Szilard (via Einstein) warned Roosevelt that, once the basic science was known, any of a number of players could develop the actual bomb, and that we should have it first.
Sure, the next step will be that any ISP or Internet-connected data provider will be required to assist in providing these "encryption keys". Which is also impossible, but gives the government a lot (more) of control and legal justification for raiding facilities, interrogating people, etc.
I second Workflowy - extremely easy to use, Web interface works well on smartphones and tablets as well as PC, and it's free. Not as feature-rich as Keep or OneNote (which are also nice), but sometimes that's a plus, really.
This is like one of those Facebook posts that starts "I'll bet you won't share/like this..." A cheap, disappointing ploy, which is bad, and you should feel bad.
I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.
But that's only two ices away from Ice-Nine!!

I'm not ready for 2026 yet!

Aw, 26 functions oughta be enough for anybody. -- Bill Gates
Paul. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost have a chemistry that works.
They certainly do, but Paul isn't my favorite Pegg/Frost film. That would probably be Hot Fuzz.
Actually, the question was about favorite movies.
Space Odyssey was based on a book
Who said they couldn't be adaptations of books? Does that mean we're supposed to throw out all the Philip K. Dick adaptations, for instance?
Interstellar, maybe - but I think The Martian will hold up well.

How many Libraries of Congress is that?
A company founded by Steve Jobs would be intransigent and controlling? The hell you say.

Well, on the plus side, the grapes could be strung together to make anal beads.
That's a lotta anal grape juice.
Re #2: Where do you live that you have to "wait on line" at gas stations? This isn't 1973...?
...and every six months when I go the dentist for a checkup and cleaning, they tell me "whatever you're doing, keep it up!". So I keep not flossing...
Their parents did; why doesn't that count?
Less libertarian that our current mess of a welfare system?

"Guangzhou OED Technologies in partnership with another company in the Chongqing Province" isn't good enough for you?
