I didn't. It's great for low bandwidth feeds, but try adding a few news sites. in the 2 weeks I used it I hardly did any work. I much prefer to trawl my favorite sites a few times a day.
When I started contracting 15 years ago I was surprised that I was one of the youngest around; most contractors that I knew then were in their late thirties and forties.
Hopefully thats going to stay the same, 'cause I'm forty now!
Because I would imagine they would also want the adverts to appear when the box is on the kitchen table, being looked at by bored kids munching away. Jeez, it sounds like a bloody good advertising space doesn't it?
>Democracy is merely a shroud fooling the voting citizens into thinking they don't live in an authoritarian and favoritist regime.
Not sure I'd agree with that. I think democracy, in this case, is open about to whom the favors are being given. The problem with vote rigging, especially electronic, is that it hides that favoritism.
In the good old days, the techincal people designed the web, and they built it. Now, it will probably be the marketing and commercial people who will drive the design of the next generation 'web'.
The thing that worries me is that the people who write viruses, worms, spyware etc are *so* much more technically savy than the kind of people who are going to drive the next generation systems. Those guys & girls are going to have a field day.
Expect to see a lot of these places springing up by 2012. And dont expect them to be cheap.
I'm living near london now but very happy that I will be in another country by 2012. London will be hell on earth. Good luck to the locals!

Does it really matter if we miss a few stories?
er, Freedom, my friend.
That he is a bit better than the guy who designed the paper clip application.
I've read Seans book about developing Gaim. It's a great story.
This guy started from nothing - he didn't even know the C programming language.
It's a real inspiration. Well done Sean!
Of course the other argument is that, percentage wise he doesn't actually give that much...
I believe the figure is 2% of his net worth. Thats certainly much more, percentage wise, than I give. Fair play to him.
>Of course, some people don't even realize that Genesis is such religious music.
Although having said that, the lyrics to 'Happy the Man' ( B side of watcher of the sky I think ) include
"Like a Nun with a gun, I'm wonderful fun"
My 3 year old loves it. I have to laugh when she sings that song
Great! Now I can clean up in the hair salons, with the Roomba stylist hack.
>With Phil or Ray singing?
:o)
Peter. Phil destroyed Genesis
The labels are throwing crap at us. How much X-factor / Pop Idol rubbish are we actually expected to purchase?
Bring back Genesis! I'd buy 'the lamb lies down on broadway' on any media format they publish it on

E-Paper or not, these displays will need power. From batteries. What an environmental nightmare.
"We felt [NTP's] patent portfolio was something that would provide our customers with the added insurance on top of what our portfolio provided."
Added insurance.
Not a better technology, just insurance that the products and services we sell you wont be ripped away. Is that what the patent system has become?
To get hold of one, so I can hack it and put windows on it.
Damm thats funny!

While their CD must play in 'ordinary' CD players, this technology is a waste of time anyway. It's not like they can start region locking them.
The guys should give up on it and focus on screwing us out of any rights on the next technology. Which they were probably already doing anyway...

>and ego te absolvo.
Look! He said no more new words!
This book is to programming as the instructions on the back of a pot noodle are to cooking.
Than living in a country where everyone has a gun ;o)
CameraWatch2. Gives acoustic warning on overspeed.
>GTX Global Cognitive Robotics(TM) is an integrated software solution
Jeez, isn't every thing these days? I expect it gives "great user experiences" too.
>One thing that bugs me is the fact that you're stuck with their display
I think the Mac Mini demonstrates a willingness to abandon single source on displays. Good thing too, IMHO
