    Anytime they start work on a new point release it means great things for the Linux OS.

    Linus isn't one to just slap another number on there, notice they are usuallly things like 2.4.25-10 and what not.

    2.6 should bringbig changes in lots of the core system components. We could get a new way to handle SMP or a new filesystem. I personally can't wait to skim the change logs.

    95% of our customers Self Install, and we have no such fucking software. Our customers THINK we do, because the shitty Toshiba cable modems we hand out have USB ports. I've had "network admins" call in bitching about not being able to install the software for the cable modem, that they've hooked up to their router. *smack*

    To the first, if its my property, I probably can shoot what I want, especially at night in Texas.

    To the second, on my property, yep.

    Its once you are in PUBLIC and infringing on the rights of others where you run into problems.

    I do tech support for a large ISP.

    Every minute I spend talking to a customer costs my company at LEAST $0.90 US.

    So those hour PLUS dialup calls take us at LEAST 6 months to make back up from that subscriber in revenue...

    Fucked up eh?

    The wave file you get from decompressing the mp3 is NOT the same as the original wave, because MP3 is LOSSY. Don't waste your time with this, the ogg files will sound like shite.

    I've volunteered to work a "double" before doing tech support, I guess the key is here I volunteered. I had just finished an 8 hour 2-10 shift, and they needed someone from 11 to 8 in the morning. I left, got something to eat, and came back. Nice bit of overtime, and I was off the next day, so I slept like a rock.

    Oh yea, no one calls during graveyard :)
