First, the word you're looking for is not "exasperated," it's exacerbate. Second, eBay had nothing what-so-ever to do with the "problem." The price of the "Power Nine" has betty pretty constant since ~'97. Third, yeah, your opponents are bastards for coming up with legitimate strategies that force you to adapt instead of just handing the victory over to you. Quit being a baby.

Same goes for grandparent. Quit being a baby. The people that can't win unless they pay out a lot of dough have no understanding of how the game works. From '95-'00, when I was playing quite a bit, I won many tournaments with $10-$25 decks. Green-Red burners were my favorite.

Um, no. You can find overtime for all sorts of jobs, not just entry-level-right-out-of-high-school stuff.

My last job I was a tech for a company that makes diffusion furnaces for Chipzilla.

When I say I was a tech, I mean that it was on-site tech-support. Our contract had us responding (calling back) to a problem within 30 minutes of being contacted. Chipzilla was nice enough to give us on-site cubicles with computers w/ high speed net access, and a pager. I sat in the cube, surfing the net, waiting for a furnace to break.

We had 24/7 coverage (12 hour shifts: 4 days 1st week, 3 days 2nd week, then back). Everything over 8 hours was paid overtime. So yes, on my short week I had 24 hours normal pay and 12 hours time-and-a-half.

Working holidays was great fun: 8 hours standard, because everybody gets holiday pay whether they work or not. Plus I made time-and-a-half for the first 8 hours. Plus double-time for the last 4 hours. 28 hours of pay for 12 hours.

This was not a low-paying job.

There's a toy magazine from waaaaaaaaaaay back that has a 1 page story about Boba Fett and his (Mandalorian) armor. The Mandalorians were a super-elite commando team (~250 of them). They were causing lots of problems, so the Jedi united and put them down. All of them, except Fett (who also happened to be the commander). Explains why Fett hates the Jedi so much.

I personally liked this story more than the books, comic books or now the movies, but I understand why it was changed.

News flash! Stop being a slathering fan boy (and I say this as someone who likes all the movies and has read all the books and all the comic books, played the RPG, some of the computer games and used to have damn near all of the toys. And you're the fanboy here). I liked the originals when I saw them when they first came, and I like the SE now. Now, I don't like the "Greedo shoots first" change and yet I don't allow it to ruin the experience for me. Nor do I go ranting all over a board full of geeks about it. It's a fucking movie, and not even an original one at that. It's meant to entertain. For me, and judging by sales for several million others as well, it does that just fine. So please, get off your high horse and quit pretending you're even remotely qualified to speak for the entirety of Star Wars fans.

Oh, wait. Who am I kidding. I see Star Wars differently than you do. I must not be a real fan.

Hate to burst your bubble here, but not everybody hates the SE. I liked most of the extras. The only thing I didn't like was the cantina shot. But that's not going to ruin my nostalgia trip.

BTW, I lived in Marin County when the SW movies were originally released and I remember seeing all of them and liking all of them, so I do have something to compare the SE to.

Acting? Cinematography? Sorry, but who the heck cares? The difference between us is that I go to a movie to be entertained for 2 hours, not to find a new philosophy in life. Is the SE perfect? No, but it's not the end of the world and I'm certainly not going to throw a temper tantrum because of the addition of a few scenes that in no way affect the story (except the cantina scene).

On the subject of education (and realize that I am saying this as a former nuclear power plant operator. I spent 5 years on a nuclear carrier.)

Maybe civilian plants are different, but for us, "going critical" is akin to setting the cruise control in your car. "Going super-critical" means you're having an up-power transaction, like stepping on the gas.

Generally speaking, I don't get too concerned when someone sets cruise to 55mph.

Going "prompt" critical, howerver, is a whole other issue. It's more or less when you have a several decade per minute power increase in about a second. It's uncontrollable. But you'd probably SCRAM out anyway. So you still won't have a release of fission material to atmosphere (let alone to your secondary system). Also, you'd really, really need to fuck up pretty hard to get a reactor to go prompt critical.

The "Terminator" is irrelevant to the series. It's hardware is an enabling technology. Skynet was able to be created not because it has some super-whammadine chip, but because it's a super-whammadine AI. In other words, it's the software. So it took them 10 years longer to develop hardware that was capable of running the software at a speed quick enough to get worthwhile performance. That doesn't change the fact the story is based on the premise of a software program with a bug.

So we learn, pretty early on, that the Cogenitor is necessary for procreation and makes up 3% of the population. Sounds to me like a much more likely scenario would be that the Cogenitors would at least be reverred, and more likely occupy a very high place in their society and/or government. I mean, really, what parent is ever going to willingly give up their child because it's a Cogenitor.

But given the direction they chose to go, I thought it was pretty freakin' obvious that suicide was going to be the result. Then again, I seem to have a knack for pointing out endings. Maybe if these hacks/authors tried writing something new instead of the same tried and tired tripe, I might actually be surprised.
