IBM is still a hardware company for a large part. They just don't sell consumer-grade devices any more. Basically IBM sells servers with full vertical integration.
They've gone back to their roots, and it seems to be working for them. Prior to the IBM PC, they didn't really sell to consumers, just businesses.
Speaking of hacking, you posted over an hour before the article release time? How did you do this? I know you have a subscription, but so do I and I've always had to wait to comment until the article publish time. Hacked Slashdot lately?
It's like Matryoshka dolls, but each one has more devastating genetic deformities than its container. The one in the middle looks like the love child of the California Raisins and ET.
The one deepest inside looks like Kuato. "Open your browser... Open your BROOOOOWSER"
GP is probably talking about prepaid points cards, not prepaid credit cards. It's often cheaper to use those points cards anyway, because you can sometimes find them on sale.
But I agree about prepaid credit cards. In general, they are evil:)
The problem with e-paper's original vision is that printouts would likely get bent or torn or whatever, and then put back in the printer, which would then jam on the damaged paper. I like the idea, but I don't think it's practical.
I'm always amused by the mouthbreathers who take video of themselves committing some crime and post it on Youtube. Then they're shocked, SHOCKED, when the cops see it and they get arrested.

What if the seas are made of beer and the women are all Natalie Portman clones?
Sounds like my local public swimming pool. Except all the women are Chris Farley clones.
For system administrators, everday is monday.
That should be on a T-Shirt or poster or something. :)
Someone whip up a design and submit it to shirt.woot.com, or cafepress or something.. I'll buy at least one.

We also have a habit of over medicating as well.
You Americans go on about medicines the way we yack about the weather in the UK.
You obviously haven't been to Minnesota, a state in the midwestern US. All anyone ever talks about is the weather.
> The episode in question in s03e23, titled "The Jerk".
Shouldn't EVERY episode of House be titled "The Jerk"? Or was this referring to someone besides House?
The jerk store called, and they're running out of YOU!
Nintendo said it won't render Wii games at higher resolutions.
URL? If that's true, it's extremely lame. If you can play Wii games at 1080p in an emulator, why can't the new console do the same?
They should give everyone an Xbox 360.
And a Nintendo 3DS for PSP users.
ICVWBW == I could very well be wrong. ?
ICBMCTW == InterContinental Ballistic Missile Coming This Way

A possible clue ..
Did the clothing have a tag reading "Designed in California"?
No, it was mithril. At the end of the Third Age, the hobbits took to outer space.
I can channel Darth Vader by speaking into a fan during Happy Time. "Luuuuke.... I am your faaatherrrrr... ooo laa looolaaaoooo!"
Here I thought this was going to be about Nintendo Thumb.
That, or Soul Callous. http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2005/11/2/
Yeah, nobody has ever heard of the Apple 2. Right.
Apple II
Get it right. There a pedants lurking about.
Apple ][
Get it right. There a pedants lurking about.
Obviously, they need a bigger cloud.
Not until the 32 bit era (68000 Amiga, 80486 +SoundBlaster) did they have enough power to convert text to speech.
er... The TI/99 had speech synthesis in the very early 80s.
No, it will accidentally be destroyed by the King of All Cosmos.
We broke it. Yes, we were naughty. Completely naughty. So, so very sorry... But just between you and us, it felt quite good.
If only to unlock the Mars Colonist badge on Foursquare.

Does Bjarne Stroustrop think of women as objects?
