    Hmm, i've found alot of entertaining webcomics... like real comics they're not all intended to be funny at all times, sometimes they're just a story or something more.

    PvP, Something Positive, User friendly, GU Comics (if your part of the mmo scene), clan of the cats, life of riley (entertaining, not so much funny), sinfest, sexylosers, ghastly's ghastly comic, etc...

    There's 100 bad to 1 good, but look around and you can find comic's you'll enjoy.

    ... they should look at it as a learning experience. They just "learned" what we all knew years ago, it's all good so long as you don't get caught. Getting caught getting information that others deem as secret generally has consequences. They just got theirs.

    It's a valuable life lesson... yah.

    (As a side note, I do really think it was a bit harsh since they left their shit all over the place like that... maybe one of the students should sue them for leaving their private data publically accessable without their consent?)

    A working exploit would change the priorities, but there aren't a slew of people who even can understand the complexities of programming a system to exploit this bug under most *nix os.

    ... I'm more tolerant of spam, I'm running thunderbird and I don't see it... so I don't mind. :)

    On the otherhand, I'd be a homicidal maniac if I actaully saw all the spam I got, the 5-6 that slip past the filters per day annoy me... I'm up to close to 1500/day across 6 accounts.

    The problem is, there are less than reputable doctors that SEEM reputable, and even a good doctor can have an equipment malfunction... 1% is a huge ammount if you're in that 1% and its YOUR eyesight. A good example is mine, my doctor told me that yes he could do the surgery but he suggested I wait, my corneal thickness wasn't great and if it wasnt perfect the first time there was no way to correct... and that doesn't say anything for halo's, flares, sunbursts, etc... that can happen even in the % they consider to be a success.

    ... laser surgery on my eyes a while back, there is a group of horror story patients at http://www.surgicaleyes.org/Index.htm ... lasik rules... when it works correctly. It is hell on earth when it doesn't. Based on what i've read there and else where about 1% have "hideous" problems (cornea detachment etc), 2% more have "bad problems" (extreme dry eyes), and about 2% more yet have "problems" (starbursts, flares, streaks, bad floaters), and an unknown percentage beyond have other problems that require further laser surgery to correct. I would honestly say my general thought is this:

    If you are an excellent canidate for the surgery, its not a bad idea, if you don't have suberb lens thickness, great levels of moisture, etc... don't consider it. Your eyes are not replaceable.

    ... next year we'll have the super platinum deleted scenes 15 disk version, and the following year the titanium unloaded reloaded version with 20 disks...

    I suppose waiting for the matrix will be alot like waiting for LoTR-- Gotta sit through all the regular, bronze, gold, platinum, titanium editions to get the best version... I just hate to buy and then rebuy later to get the additional content.

    Actually using debian unstable fixes more than a few of those issues. Knowing how to use linux in general fixes the rest, I started with slackware way back in the day then moved to debian later and most recently to gentoo (which I am totally in love with.) In the meantime I used suse, redhat, mandrake, some craptacular ppc linux, and several other alternate architecture linux variants at work and I've personally found Debian to be one of the best. Obviously our technical backgrounds differ a bit, but I've never had a bit of trouble with debian. Shrug. For the technically competent these days I could only honestly recommend Gentoo however.

    This is something everyone who has built systems and read any reviews in the past few years knows. The duron isn't really that great of a deal but the 1700+ and the 2500+ axp chips are unreal. Both perform exceptionally well, overclock like a dream, and unless compared to c varient (800mhz fsb) p4's absolutely rape everything performance wise.

    ... to buy very high end when I buy every few years but some parts just seem to slide along with the pc (there isn't enough difference between the old and the new to make a difference...)

    My flat out oldest part is my keyboard. It's an old PS/2 style keyboard off an ibm 8088 that *I* got in 89, but it was already used and pretty old at that point... So lets see... its between 14 and 23 years old.

    My next oldest part is my Teac floppy drive coming in at 9 years.

    Second oldest would be my 21" monitor, coming in at 7 years.

    After that all the rest of the parts in my main machine are fairly new (2 years).

    My other machines stretch all the way back to a 266 p2 and a SparcStation. God knows whats in them, i've not opened them in 5-6 years :)

    This is called language evolution. It's always frowned on and it always happens in the end d00d. There are some factors slowing it down right now, most specifically a lack of teritorial conquest with assimilation of populace.
