was running this as a story as well, basically most of their users came to the conclusion that the general populous would "sell their grandmas" before returning to a modem. Non-techies don't want to wait for their information, this is the only thing that brought them to the 'net. at least I _hope_ it wasn't for the ads...
dont forget who is actually breathing our pollution. No, Im not proud of it, but don't tell me about your healthy skies...just don't forget your urban sombrero
that america is in for a real treat every day we awake. It's a pleasure to share it with Australia. Sorry to be sappy, but rocks in space scare the shit outta me.
i do find the brand assocaition very useful, one of my friends lives in seattle, one in New York, florida, ohio, etc. if I want either one to see what i see i can't tell them "channel four" -- i just tell them a network, and they know by that. I can find the network immediately through the brand association. "fox says fox, abc is apeacock....if its not those two then its nbc..."
(offtopic) like with uprising -- my friend IN seattle has MS Ultimate TV and didnt get NBC last night, whatsup with that?
i was told, when I was with Telocity, that they "didn't support" LinUx, and it was "not allowed." They said you were "not allowed" to use any routers of any sort, or hubs, it had to be from their gateway to their machine. Too bad I hosted several websites, gaming servers, and ran an ISP from my DSL connection, anyway. Suckers...
yeah, i can almost hear the world-renowned architect rolling over in his grave at the thought of this. The design we have implemented was meant to save as much of the aeshetic beauty of the place... and during off-hours it is a very good system, plus we can keep a lot better track of who is coming and going. Considering the fact that there are magnetic locks in various underground places, as well as on every outside door... turnstyles would get old...and I think they would become unnecessary...
i work for a co. that has recently employed magnetic key cards on all its doors, and yet, due to our slogan, which I won't reveal here, I feel I need to do chivalrous things like hold open doors. You know how many times a day I let someone in to the buildings without so much as a "who the f*ck are you?"
is smaller, neater, and faster than his 233...it was also about the same cost, and if I put an RF connector on it and _maybe_ hook up an inverter...like his, we're looking at a better solution. I like the ingenuity here, but I'd have loved to see it smaller...a LOT smaller. That power supply could be integrated into the dash, underneath, so you wouldnt have to carry it...you could use a laptop hard drive...I can think of a lot of ways to neaten this up...just doesnt seem to be _that_ great of an option at these early stages.
ps... building a "power supply" for a car can be done by ripping a few bits off a standard power supply and replacing htem with wires... a power supply merely refines the 12 volt power, and converts to it from 110. It is fairly easy to remove the conversion bits, and have just a 12volt refining mechanism, seeing as how computers run on 12volts and under anyway.
i live in Racine, he's absolutely right. Milwaukee is Absolutely segregated, tough on the WRONG crimes...they used to call us "Little Chicago" but our crime has improved drastically since the late 80's. To the Hispanic and black community in Milwaukee: sorry guys, for the tyranny and the bullshit you have to put up with on a day to day, and props to those of you who get involved in programs like these to help pry apart Milwaukee's g.i. eddos....
and the lake stinks down here, stop throwing your shit in it, racine dont want it...take it to kenosha instead!
a "business" plan. Promised we'd never be without a machine. Guess what? I lost out on the money when my parents bought the machines, cuz I was only 19 and they didn't trust me to be around to fix it. Now I get to do the repairs for free, because a gateway salesperson bold faced lied to my parents. Oh, theyre great about replacing their products, but install will take your machine away for upwards of three weeks, and not even wince.
me:"couldnt you guys call me when you're ready"
them: "then you might steal the computer"
me: "what are you talkign about, just call me when you're ready to fix it."
them: "people do that and steal computers from us"
this went on for a quite a while, i got frustrated and did the work myself, what a buncha of fucks
gee, am i limited to one office suite at 400 bucks a registered copy? Is it one where I can't renew the software without the vendor's approval? Do you see where I'm going with this?!
STEVE, are you listening? I WILL BUY A PORT OF OSX for Intel. Make me one, and ill be your bitch.
seriously, im thinking of dropping a grand on a piece of hardware just so i can use OSX instead of MS. Just port it, far more sales, guaranteed. Anyone know why this would be an obstacle?
except MS just tried to get rights into SBC, leaving them with a stranglehold on the broadband market if they achieve that. How long is it before business customers like myself will have to forgo using Apache/*nix and start using IIS, because my ISP is owned by MS, and routers are enforcing some code that only IIS produces.
reminds me of that southpark with chef against the recording industry where the balding comb over kept yelling, "I AM ABOVE THE LAW!!!!"
*sigh*, i only buy from jade tree and the like anymore anyways. The last "commercial" cd I bought was Tenacious D, and I had to pay $20 for it...you guys rock, but damn that hurt. BTW, does the RIAA actually set like standards for pricing like you guys acuse them, I dont really understand them to be anything more than reps for labels...*cough* nazis *cough*
in WisKin there was a bill signed by former governor Tommy Thompson (now secretary of Health and Human Services) that gives rights to the consumer to have their name added to a list that denies telemarketers the right to call you. I guess this is supposed to work really really well. Unfortuanetely there are a lot of unscruplous telemarketers CALLING to CHARGE you for this service you already pay for here with your taxes. Check it out.
mine is $350+ a month, its not a big deal.

its also state-of-expense. At least here in Ziploc and Plug-In Land. I hate MBA's too.

oh yeah, I work with a hot asian chick... sweet. Unless you're her...
until their deal with SBC goes through and they rule 80% of the broadband market...
