Wow. I mean, WOW. How anyone can say the above without a straight face is STUPIFYING. Gore and his team are the ones who tried to change how the ballots were counted AFTER THE FACT. Get that through your HEADS. If you don't like how its done, change if before hand. But you don't change the rules after the process is finished just becuase you don't like the result. Did your mommy give you what you wanted because you screamed the the rules weren't fair, AFTER you had agreed to clean up your room in exchange for getting to go outside and play? She must have, becuase its the only thing that could possible lead you to believe that Gore graciously accepted the outcome. They and the Florida State Supreme court [in addition to trying to throw out mililtary ballots (SUPER scum move there by the way, by the *gracious* Gore camp)] tried to change the way the votes are counted after the election was over. The Supreme Court said you can NOT do that. They didn't decide the election, they only made the rules in place at the time of the election the rules that would determine the outcome. Maybe your screaming voice worked with mom, but it won't work with the grownups. And we're damn tired of your noise. Grow up.

Protecting human rights is about the last thing Amnesty International does. They find plenty of things wrong with the way the US does things, but find no problem with third world countries who lock people up for years at a time, cut their hands and feet off, and drop their people in shredder. But goodness, let the US execute a serial killer, and AI just loses it and calls us mean and backwards.

I'm quite alarmed at *anyone* use BBC news as their news source. The bias and uninformed reporting to say nothing of the deliberate attempts at casting news events in a certain direction of light makes what once was a good source of information for me a place I now avoid like the plauge. Excepting for the occasional moment that I feel like getting a good laugh or a good scare that is. I still don't get the concept of requiring a license to have a TV. What if you could receive signals in your fillings or dentures, would they assess you a fee then? I can't believe that on a site that promotes such freedom of liberties such as slashdot, that the people on here who live in the UK aren't screaming bloody murder every 5 seconds over such an incredibly stupid and intrusive requirement. But then I can go back and realize that anyone who trusts BBC news for accurate reporting is quite impossible to understand anyway.

I'm sure I'll get modded down, but hey, that doesn't bother near as much as the things I just wrote about.

    That is all.
