I don't read much in the TCO studies about the cost/risk/liability of lawsuits from this team. Can I buy insurance for this? :) Notice the $2 million Tuesday software audit. Any disgruntled employee can cause havoc. They can audit my winxp desktop but keep your grubby hands off the servers they are ALL GPL! Now beat it! They can pull out all your computers in an instant and you have to fight to get them back.

    BSA

The GPL is this organizations worst nightmare. So HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

I just got a thought, I am going to make stickers for every monitor and PC that uses only GPL software. NO BSA (circle with slash BSA in middle). It will make the others careful about what they install and give me great satisfaction as I do my Walk About. Then I'll add a line item to the budget for each machine without a sticker. I'll let accounting figure out the rest.

Of course I FULLY agree with and support about MA's responsibility not to store public records in a proprietary format. 3 Cheers MA! You are fighting the right fight.

I would be glad to just provide a vaild visa card and be done with it, but noooooo! They wanted "mothers maiden name", threats that if any data is wrong you forfiet, etc. This I see as the downfall of this game, because otherwise I would have just spent upwards of $200USD just trying it out. I like computer games and spend too much time playing them and it would be great to earn points that would convert back into CASH! The only real trouble with this is having to "TRUST" the game servers. From what I have seen when people have a way to cheat many do. Even punkbusters doesn't get the players running two machines with a player on each side so the "spies eyes" report the location of the enemy.

I have contemplated this problem for a long time. Here in the US the signals are scrambled so forget about getting a tuner into a pc that can record. In fact DISH-TV tuners baffle all the IR-Blasters I can find so even that solution won't work. Instead I propose a simple button pusher built with something like a lego mindstorm kit that can be programmed to push the buttons on my DISH-TV remote. That would save $5/mo for each DVR, provide nearly unlimited storage, and allow broadcasting around the house on the network using somehting like Myth-tv.
