I'm so glad they canned ADC. Apple has been all about promoting I/O standards, but they had that stupid proprietary display connector.
No doubt, it was kind'a cool to have one cable for the display connector and power... but, I'd rather have DVI. Dealing with special video cards, adaptors, and powered adaptors was totally retarded.
Then again, Miramax is the Disney subsidiary that distributes all of Disney's edgy and or questionable films. Moreover, Miramax did pay Moore to make this movie. You'd think they'd distribute it after shelling out millions to reporters, researchers, editing staff, etc.
Disney paid for this movie, knowing full well that Moore's film was going to be controversial and anti-bush (he's been talking about this for a VERY longtime)... and that's fairly shady.
Even if Moore had a hunch Disney would intentionally make a movie to can a movie, it's a very fitting publicity stunt as well as a fine piece of muckraking. Considering media censorship is a big part of this movie, I don't see why you wouldn't give this a shot.
Play Halo on "Legendary" or "Heroic" (but preferably legendary, or CoOp Legendary)... then you actually understand why many of us are addicted to that game.
If you play through on Easy or Normal, it's an OK game. But once you turn up the AI you'll realize why the game's paced the way it is, why the guns are the way they are, etc. It's definitely not something you can sprint through.
Here's something for other cars. It comes with a dock and supporta steering wheal controls or controls from your car's CD player (this thing uses the iPod to replace an external CD changer)
This thing's actually fairly neat... it allows you to view the iPod's LCD on your dash. The BMW / Apple system hides the iPod on in the glove box.
Dension has a set up that will allow you to control your iPod with steering wheal buttons, or CD changer / auxiliary audio controls... just like the Apple / BMW setup.
However Dension also sells a mounting bracket so you can view your iPod's LCD. The Apple BMW setup places your iPod in your glovebox and (seemingly) forces you to browse your giant music archive without ID tags. Ouch.

"Of course, it turns out that most of my friends *do* solely play Halo...:P":) hehe, ya I own an Xbox and a ton of games.... but I only play Halo. Although the other games I own are quite fun, console Halo is video crack.
I know at least 4 other people in a similar situation;).
Alright, I'm a developer, and I don't understand how HalfLife 2 became delayed.
Did Valve decide massive rewrites were necessary after their code was stolen? If so, why? I can see where security for multiplayer and network play might have been compromised. However this was a -huge- setback.
It seems like their source code was illegally copied, and "theft" became a scapegoat to cover lagging development. Stealing source code isn't like stealing a car. There are always multiple current copies of large projects.
MS is only going to use a hardware media player to push a wide-scale adoption of Windows Media. MS is not going to make a dime off of their MediaPlayer. They'll take a giant loss selling a $50 Media Player (even a good tiny flash player costs $100).
MS is going to shoot for long term profits from WM licenses. They are going to try to squish competition, and after that is done, they're going to raise licensing rates... which will make music more expensive.
I'm all for competition. However MS's concept of "competition" is the exact same as Walmart's. Slash prices, kill competitors, raise rates, and lower product/service quality.
I'm sure Apple knew this was going to happen. These are typical Microsoft actions. It'll be interesting to see how they're going to innovate their way out of this predicament... they certainly don't have the money to counteract stuff like this.
I'm a web developer, and I have FireFox (and a billion other browsers) installed... however I find Mozilla's feature set a bit more useful for development.
Firefox, Camino, and Thunderbird are the browsers and email clients for those who don't need JS debuggers, consoles, ftp clients, text editors, whosits, and whatsits.
This is yet another reason why we have the "Sonoma Aroma" in Marin / Sonoma County.
You'd think the Sonoma Aroma would smell like wine and vineyards. Nope. It smells like shit.... especially in the summer. Nothing beats endless acres of giant turd piles baking, up wind, in 95 degree temperatures.
If you've ever wondered what it's like to live inside of a fart... move here.
Those of us who are developers and designers understand why a game like this take forever. Simply put, the bigger and better a game is, the longer it takes to develop.
Moreover, I would imagine the pistol will be in Halo 2.
Nintendo has totally dominated E3 before (2002 was big, as I recall). Nintendo knows how to put on a good show. Yet, even though Nintendo may blow you away with a number of platform games and new toys, that doesn't mean Nintendo is going to kick ass in the wake of E3.
Nintendo has a lot of work cut out for them. They need to find a way to save their dwindling portion of the home console market, and they need to find a away to combat the PSP.
This is probably a bit more fitting for this crowd;).... For those of you who don't know... Monty Python's Life of Brian is starting to pop up in theaters now.

less is more...
I agree.
Good flick.
What about WIFI connections? Could you blame this stuff on a leacher that was accessing your router without your knowledge?

What ever happened to the days when our Army would build their own giant evil super computers?
This solution has been around for a while...
... just like the Apple / BMW setup.

Ya, folks have been able to rip this CD in OS X. Pop it in, load up iTunes, click import, done. :)

But hey, could always buy this album online from the ITMS (and, possibly, sprinkle a bit of PlayFair on your download

As Steve noted when the G5's first came out, IBM would be at 3ghz before the end of 2004. We still have a lot of time left in 2004.

And when I think of "underdogs" that produce digital devices... Sony and Microsoft are the first to some to mind.

1 down... a bagillion more to go.

;)
nevertheless, I still laughed at this

Man... that student is going to have no trouble fulfilling his graduation requirements.
If this thing pans out, he could walk after turning in a grad thesis that says "I cured AIDS bitch, where's my degree?"
