I knew something was weird about this and I decided to use some software and keyloggers to check things out. It only monitored her account. I changed all of my login passwords so that she couldn't use my accounts. Without going into great detail I quickly found out that things weren't what they had been made out to be.
Jennifer (her REAL name) was a con artist who had been "engaged" to 5 men over 8 years and had cleaned them out for everything. I was the first person with a tech background that she and her brother accomplice tried to scam. After she was arrested I found everything out, and if I had not used the "spyware" that people bash rather heavily I may be out my savings and have my credit DESTROYED.
(I wish I could explain in more detail everything that happened except for there are circustances in which I cant speak about.)
My case is EXTREME but, spyware saved me. Plus probably 20 other succesful guys from the same fate. When I explained the events to my current girlfriend she didn't blame me for using the tactics I did. The thing is though, I'm still using them. I still log her computer usage and make sure that she is not cheating. I feel bad sometimes about it, but then I think about what I learned a few years ago....
