Film will always be around nometter what. Yes for everyday qucky shot there is nothing better then digital. But for professional or art photos there is nothing better then film. Films are like LPs. Digital will kill 35mm but it has no chance against 60mm. Analog will always be analog.
I hope the next one will be as good as the first one. Looks like more and more people are trying to make their job easier by using computers and CGI. For some reason they forgot that nothing will replace a clay model. As well as digital camera will replace a film camera. Matrix was a revolution in film making because it was a low budget movie. Yes it was for it's class. And it made people think. I hope Polish brothers will not go G. Lucas path and will not make awesome movie into another teen movie. Actually I'm wrong Star Wars 1 was for little kids. SW 2 will be for 13 years old teens.
I just watched 1.1. I think we should all send 10$ each to that guy so he can get himself dual 1Gig G4 Mac and redo it at maximum quality. (You can notice slowdowns when high action frames were rendered)Thats the way SW 1 should be in the first place. I was amaized how much you can change a movie just doing a cuts and taking out some of the voices. Still he missed one yahooooo....:))) (in racing scene when JarJar screms "here hi comes....yahoooo"). JarJar is now really serios. and Anaken is more serious. I work for ISP and we actually didn't give any software out. It was up to customer to choose what they wants to use and download it. I don't know anyone who doesn't have IE or simular. The Vampires", "Interview with Vampire" and Canadian serie "after the midnight". Blade as well as Blade II is poorly made. Have tottaly idiotic 50s style plot. And exacly like someone said it's like watching someone playing vidoe game.

I can't say that LOTR was a state of art but it was as close as Gladiator for example. I like the idea that the movie is shot on 60mm film and not on digital crup which is really common in Hollywood. You even can see that it was shot on the mountains for real.( The mountain scene has more blue because of UV). Cinematography is great you can really feel that you're there. It deserve the oscar there. Computer graphics is great. It showes what Maya and Linux cluster can do:). Makeup. Someone said that POTA is better. I agree POTA was much better. But still LOTR deserves oscar too. Support actor - LOTR should won it as well but some crup like Beautiful Mind (Most idiotic movie I've seen) took over. After all book is always better just because you visualize yourself. Well my visualization and Jackson's are different. I wouldn't imaging Liv Taylor saving Frodo. LOL. I think she is a biggest assplug in the movie. Mr Jackson is trying to put her whatever he can, then in the book she is just a minor figure.
