    A quick Google search will quickly point out that Earl Grey is generally drunk without milk. I think its also uneccessary to add lemon, as Earl Grey already has a citrus tang from the bergamot oils.

    Yep some nematodes (little worms) survived the shuttle crash. They were on their 4th or 5th generation "post-crash" when they were recovered.

    For a biologist you don't seem to know much about stem cells. Last time I looked in a tissue culture flask you couldn't differentiate HEK293's into anything other than cancerous kidney cells which is what they are... The point of a stem cell is that it can differentiate into other cell types.

    Not to nitpick - but check the Mirriam Webster definition of patently and you will find that it is perfectly correctly used in this manner to mean 'obvious' or 'evident'. I've always used patently and blatently completely interchangably - because it is possible to do so, not because they sound alike..

    Back to the dictionary for you :)

    PerlMonks is a fantastic way of showing how an online community can run. It makes /. look like a war zone. By turns it is funny, helpful, the XP system keeps people interested in posting and it allows everyone a degree of metamoderation past a certain XP level.


    Now its been mentioned on /. that quite little backwater of perl lovers is in danger ;)

    that the sister project genome@home was so monumentally badly mismanaged that it effectively merged with folding@home a distinct project. I lost complete faith in the Pande group at that point along with a lot of other genome crunchers and switched all my CPU's back to SETI...
