  1. In a master stroke, Trump has motivated our largest cities, states and some of our biggest corporations to voluntarily provide most of the benefits of the Paris deal, without spending trillions of tax dollars that will not benefit us. And he managed to get the rest of the world pissed enough to refuse to let us try to renegotiate our financial commitments, saving us even more tax dollars.

By pulling out of the Paris deal, Leftists are now screaming for state's rights and corporate rights. If that's not 3D chess, I dunno what is.This folks, is what winning looks like.

Just amazing the reach of Putin. First, he manages to get the DNC & Hillary Clinton to write thousands of self-incriminating (and on Hillary's side, remarkably foul-mouthed - or is it foul-keyboarded?) emails. Then he suborns the DNC to steal the nomination from Sanders and give it to Clinton, to give Trump an easier opponent. Next he induces a DNC staffer named Seth Rich to steal the compromising emails and give them to Wikileaks, which dutifully publishes them, showing the DNC to be corrupt and Hillary to be venal. Then he manages to get Rich to set himself up for a mugging in which he is shot twice in the back but nothing is stolen. Then he manipulates the Director of the FBI to announce just before the election that many, many thousands of emails potentially involving Hillary have been found and need to be examined. And finally, he finesses the US intelligence community into believing he hacked those DNC computers to influence the election, thereby concealing - and taking off the discussion table - any examination of the DNC's & Hillary's wrongdoing.

I heard that they found the cell-phone-smashing sledge hammer in Putin's basement!

Right now, the left is in the process of rejecting freedom of speech as a reactionary concept. Freedom of speech has been a cherished left-wing virtue for decades, advanced by people like Karl Marx, Friedrich Engels, Rosa Luxemburg, and many other radical luminaries. But lately the concept has come to be associated with the right, thanks to the vagaries of our political culture. If we were a smart, we would recognize not only that freedom of speech is consistent with left-wing principles, but also that appearing to be against freedom of speech is a sure-fire way to lose the support of potential adherents. But this kind of strategic thinking serves only to advance the movement itself; it does not advance the interests of the people within the movement. Indeed, the more that we drift into a âoefree speech is conservativeâ frame, the less people will be willing to defend the concept, even if doing so would be in our strategic political self-interest.

This is not some James Bond weirdness, they really did this crap. The American propaganda at the same period was largely ineffectual. There is a faction on the US government that is super enthusiastic for a war with Russia. I have no idea what they think they're going to accomplish but this is just the latest development. They keep painting Russia as this malevolent force that's behind every rock and tree. It's like the Simpsons' Maude Flanders: "Won't someone think of the children!" I think part of it is trying to distract from the obvious issues that Western elites are corrupt and do NOT have our best interests at heart.

Just think: if they weren't engaged in skullduggery, the Russians would have nothing. The screeching over Hillary was excruciating. Instead of addressing the issues, the solution was to make accusations. A Clinton win would have been pretty disastrous for the world, and I believe we would have probably seen a war between Russia and the US during her term. The US and Russia are already fighting a proxy war in Syria, and you only have to look at Clinton's rhetoric in the lead up to the election (no-fly zones over Syria, Russians are hacking US infrastructure, cyber attacks on infrastructure are grounds for going to war etc), and look at the fact that she was receiving public and financial support from various war-mongering neocons to realize that things were not looking good. I don't know how Trump will end up, but at least the people and companies who stood to make the most money from war were not supporting him - and in fact were actively opposed to him.

Russia has a terrible position. They are outnumbered 3:1 by the Europeans alone, without any help from the US. They are ringed by US bases. They have a huge border to defend. Russia is a paper tiger. Think about who's telling you they're a huge threat: what do they have to gain? Remember the mainstream media can't be trusted, they have an agenda and during the election they abandoned their role as truth-tellers. We all saw it. That's a bigger threat to our democracy than any foreign enemy. And what do you do when you get caught with your hand in the cookie jar? Blame the foreigners. It's a solution as old as the hills.
