    I'm just curious, but have you lived in China? You sure seem to know a lot about the country.
    Having personally lived in a "less free" country (than the US), I can tell you that foreigners usually don't live by the same rules as the locals.
    Moreover many foreigners in China have illegal satellite dishes (including my dad's boss) and it's no big deal.

    Actually, the TV service is included in the 30 euros. But some channels require a monthly fee (BBC World is 25 euro cents / mo)

    Although I agree with you, I'm guessing his point was more that you can't change a whole people's mentality through force.
    Unfortunately countries where women are not considered the equal of men are the rule, not the exception, and you can't just go bombing these countries into obedience. You have to face the problem with other means (bring education, wealth, ...).

    Canada has had several referendums on the separation of Quebec. Don't say it wouldn't allow it, that's just not true.
    On Taiwan, the best would be to let the taiwanese decide. But China would't allow it, since it actually stands to loose.

    There is no such thing as "No Point of View." Everyone has a point of view, and it will show in their writings. Based on the typical person who would write in this, I'd expect it to quickkly form leftist leanings.

    1) There is such a thing as a fact.
    Here is a simple example you might understand : no WMD's were found in Iraq. From there you might argue on the validity of arguments put forth by the B*sh administration.

    2) Fox News is NOT balanced. It selectively reports on important facts. Other channels (mostly, we're not talking Al-Manar news channel here) do a better job at balanced news.
