So it's pretty likely that if you get "Chipped" you will show up on the bad guy's radar and you'll get kidnapped since they know exactly where to find you. They also know which body part to return to your family as proof that they have you.
Si officer, that is Raoul's chip in his big toe in that box you have.
It would be nice (especially for the subsequent 99) for the police to catch a murderer after the first one, not wait for 100 or so and then run a analysis on the distribution.
I beg to differ. The road, whilst somewhat twisty, managed to keep your attention all the time. It's reputation also kept some of the poorer drivers away, and the altogether worst accident happened just north of Squamish at the centre of a loooong straight.
The stretch through Lion's Bay was twinned after the 1991 slide, but hastily reverted to single track after many accidents that happened right at the end of the twinning where speeding drivers had to merge back into traffic on a curve. I think the work done will decrease the frequency of accidents, but those that happen will be more severe including more fatalities. The new sections are already becoming a racetrack. Time will tell, in any event.
Well, the athletes and officials will all be taken care of - helicopters, planes, boats etc.
But the paying public will basically be told to sexually go elsewhere. This grants the IOC it's wish of having a games where the public paid for, but cannot get to (and hence disrupt) any of the events. I'm sure the security forces are watching this one with interest.
Apparently, the IOC were also OK with Uday Hussein's policy of imprisoning and torturing Iraqi athletes, but then again the US Govt. were also flogging chemical weapons to his dad to use on the Kurds at the time.
If the "your Mom" you quote looked like Angelina Jolie then that might be a suitable retort, but it is more likely that "your Mom" refers to someone who probably looks something like (and could quite likely be in the same state as) Estelle Getty. Thus it is you who are worse off for having made that remark.
The problem with having to be so specific with a law is that it doesn't cover every situation. Is driving while playing chess on the front seat with a passenger illegal? It damn well should be, without specifically having to mention "chess". If you are having a heated argument with a passenger and don't give _all_ your attention to your driving then you are driving without due care and attention and if a policeman sees you doing this he should be able to write you a summons/give you a ticket/whatever.
Why not simply have a law where you must drive with "due care and attention". This covers everything from texting to putting on your make-up. No need to mention everything specifically. No need to create new laws for new technology.
If everyone is permitted to carry arms because of "protection" - and an image on CNN showed a woman with a placard saying carrying weapons was "a basic human right" - then you have to concede that everyone should be allowed weapons, even convicted criminals, mental patients and children.
Once you go there, then you are allowing for a mass murdering rampage every year or so as part of the cost of doing business.
I wonder what the position of the police is. They're on the front line and I would think they'd be happier if they were the only ones packing the heat, then they don't have to watch their backs as often.
Meting out justice to bin Laden might not sit too well with the rest of his family in Saudi Arabia. They might be tempted to rescind their support for the Bush presidency if, Allah forbid, that should ever happen.
I thought about registering withglowinghearts.com but someone beat me to it :)
Pilot: Somebody set up us the bomb.
Ground Control: We get signal.
Pilot: What !
Ground Control: Main screen turn on.
Pilot: It's you !!
Technician: How are you gentlemen !!
Technician: All your base are belong to us.
That sounds kinda trite coming from an Anonymous Coward...
Just bury one of these puppies with it. Then you have the media and the means to retrieve it.
But they're a bugger to strap to your wrist while you are out hiking.

Look buddy, we all know who the terrorists are. They are the people who don't share the same opinion as us, right?

I have it - drop me your email address and I'll forward it to you.
And more for those who die on the track...
It would be just my luck to get picked for the ski-jumping...
It tells me not to expect any intelligent comments from them on forums like /.
I'd hope they supply free mouthwash to get the taste out of your mouth afterwards, too.
I have a street map of Kyoto with a legend translating the Japanese for "WC" into English - "Cornhole Palace".
Something tells me that wasn't entirely accidental.

...at least you think it all worked fine, but as yet you haven't had any kids and you have a propensity to throw cars around when you get angry.
If you only get one envelope, returning stuff is all you can do. If you get more than one, you can
a) return all junk to the one you het the most or
b) do a switcheroo and return junk to the wrong place
Or you can wait a month or two, then return it. Hopefully the mailing cost center will be closed by then and it'll cause them more aggravation.

...it's OK to pirate this one then??
It's about an adventurer who wanders from game to game to solve the mystery of the plagiarised graphics.
