    Hopefully we won't need to worry about using homebrew hardware to get around DRM.
    If DVDs are any indication, hardware will probably just require cheat codes to be entered before removing DRM locks.

    I don't know what distro you use, but on debian (unstable) this doesn't seem to work.

    I don't remember the original MGS that well, but I know it's possible to beat MGS2 without killing anyone (I have). The weapons are even color coded by wether or not they kill people.

    Well at the high school I attend (in WA) I've been told not to install linux because it's "against policy". However, we do have a few macs.

    I'm not sure if using squid would help. It looks to me like the problem is that when requests are made from openNIC, they don't work. Installing squid wouldn't help because it wouldn't be able to resolve openNIC names either. However, it might be worth asking them if they could add an openNIC nameserver.

    Halt isn't supposed to power down your machine. Try calling 'poweroff' of using halt -p.

    I think that Microsoft should be punished the same way that the tobacco industry was, by making them pay for anti-smoking ads. Wouldn't you love to have billboards in your hometown proclaiming "Think. Don't run windows."? I know I would.
