  10. The Source? on Nintendo Declares GCN Most Popular Console Ever · · Score: 1

I do not want to sound offensive, but I have seen an incresing number of articles without an actual source to back them up. An example of this is when the gamecube pre-release was announced. I took this as truth, because I viewed slashdot as a creditable source. However, I did a small amount of research, and found out that nintendo made an offical statement that that was a roomer.

Now I see an aritcle that says they can find a similar article, but nothing to back up their claim. This makes me seriously question slashdot's creditbility. If you want to post that Nintendo's Gamecube sold better than Harry Potter, great. The press release says that directly, and it is a reliable source. However, the "yeah, that sounds like it could be approach" of the approval of articles is beginning to wear on me. At this point I see Slashdot as more of a roomer mill than a news source.

  12. In sports, willpower is as big factor on Genetically-Engineered Super-Athletes? · · Score: 1

There gets to a point where ability as much a question of mental will as it is physical power. Your body may be able to handle much of anything, but if you don't harness your potential, you won't be much good.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying willpower will do everything. There are many times when people's bodies just give out because they are pushed beyond their limits. There are times when no amount of will can force the body to do something it simply because it lacks the energy to do so. However, it takes a certain kind of person to make their body reach that limit. This includes dedication to the sport and practicing correctly when you are not competing.

Will genetically engendered athletes have an advantage? Yes. Will that guarantee them a win? Not at all.

For those who are wondering, yes I am varsity division one in college.

(cut and paste from my site)

Well I just got the game and let me say I am impressed. The graphics in the game are phenomenal - similar to the multiplayer test but with a lot more details. There are cobwebs on archways, skeletons bones littering the floors, and characters even blink when giving a speech talking. The nice thing is that game has little details that didn't have to be added, but were. The so far plot is interesting and easy to get into.

Gameplay is balanced and fun. It feels like a cross between Halflife and the Wolfenstein levels from Doom. I just started and have already observed a few interesting features.

I fought my way into a room with a wooden floor. Some of the floorboards were missing and you could see under you. Unfortunately, the nazis could also see up. They let loose and opened fire as wooden chips started flying. When they shot the right place, part of the floorboards just shattered! It seems like a small touch, but it was very impressive to look at. In my opinion its the small things that can help make the videogame.

So far, from my first impression the game gets an A+. A more detailed review will be given in about a week when I have played the game further.

Doubt that will work. When I was in highschool a few years back, a friend of mine had a tape recorder in his locker, and left it on play accidently.
