So I did, and mounted her hard drive and tar'ed up all of her files and copied them to the Linux share. She's gotten a new laptop since then, one which runs WinXP.
I used Knoppix for backing up the Windows 98 disk of my parents, but I'm not sure if the same routine will work with XP (think Alternate Data Streams etc.). Does anyone know? I'm not particularly fond of imaging programs...
In the docs they write that a server should be able to accept unsollicited connections so the new Windows Firewall defaults to off, unlike the one in XP SP2.
Knoppicillin is what you are looking for. It has been released by the German magazin C't. Unfortunately it is not available for download because it uses 2 commercial virusscanners and a licenced NTFS driver for Linux.
Some Palm and Handspring models shipped with faulty DRAM. Instead of replacing the unit, Handspring released a patch which slashed the battery time in half. Still bitter about it...
"Written by three Microsoft security researchers, the book provides a great overview as well as an in-depth coverage of assessing security via penetration testing."
"I have been fascinated by leadership dynamics throughout my working career. [...] A concern is that we often get to hear the same leadership issues over and over again, yet leaders continue to lead with mediocrity and passiveness".
His Billness will not take this lightly! These guys can kiss their jobs at Microsoft Research goodbye!:-)
How did you convince Microsoft to accept the Thawte root certificate into Internet Explorer (or Netscape for that matter)? Would you say that this was a crucial moment in your career?
The Dutch equivalent of the MPAA didn't like it, but I don't think the makers of the film would have objected much. Looks like great publicity for the movie.
I once saw a documentary about a Japanese professor who was obsessed to find out what had happened to the obducted brain of Einstein. Travelled all over the world, spoke in broken English but he did succeed in finding at least some parts of the brains.
Remote Desktop is much better than VNC, especially when used over the internet because VNC is not encrypted at all. Remote Desktop includes built in 128 bit encryption.
Except RDP was never meant to be used over the Internet. It is vulnerable to a Man-in-the-Middle attack.
I disagree. The support mailinglist has been great. For instance, FreeS/WAN team member Sam Sgro provided commercial quality support. One issue is that they deliberately did not filter for viruses and spam. But other filtered mailinglists sprung up so that was not really an issue.
PDAs with VGA screens are expected in the next few months. These should make tasks such as browsing websites much easier. The Zaurus SL-6000 will a VGA screen. The Toshiba e800 already has one.

Next time, Microsoft had better attendees frisked for rogue remote controls! Damn GNU hippies! :-)
The native IPsec in the Linksys is based on Linux as well, but it is outdated and buggy and possibly insecure.
AFAIK the Broadcom wireless chipset used in that Linksys is closed source so you are basically stuck with kernel 2.4.
How about the Leopard seal?

Hm. I'm not sure about that.

There are alternatives.
From the referenced BN page:

Ha, but how about interrupts!? :-)

Obligatory Simpsons quote:
"You mean Mel Brooks is Jewish??!"
And rightly so! :-)
You write in your thesis that EAP-TTLS and PEAP are more secure than EAP-TLS. Could you elaborate on this?
You're right, here are the pictures.

Pecunia (Secunia?) non olet...
Or that you were asleep while your computer was downloading the ISO overnight?
Wow, that was even weirder than I remembered...
Thanks for those links.

Peculiar guys, those Japanese...

Sounds like VGA resolution to me.
**Only the ClearVue application supports this mode."
So, its only high-res for a certain application.
There are utilities (read: hacks) that enable the high resolution for most applications. WM2004 should fix this.
