Yes, you can input the voucher code in Steam (click on "Browse Games..." then "Register a product I already own") and it will give you the "Bronze" version of HL2 (HL2 + CS:S).
As someone mentioned above, only the map and modelling tools are available with this precursor to the "full" SDK, which should become available soon after Nov 16.
I've played both the EQ2 Beta (for about 1.5 months) and the WoW Beta (for about 4 months). EQ2 is just another MMORPG money maker from SOE that has been rushed through the doors around 6 months too early to "beat" WoW to the market.
WoW has felt quite polished for a month or two now.
I grabbed the Fileplanet 14 day free trial and it was enough to convince me to purchase the game (only $29.99 these days). I'm about halfway through my 30 day free trial and the game is running a bit thin content-wise, although I have 'powered' my way through a lot of it. I would like to give the GCW/PvP a try, but as it currently stands, it pretty much consists of jedi/guild gank squads. Funny, I thought Lucas et al. were anal about continuity in the Star Wars universe... guess not! You've got fully declared (overt) Rebel Jedi walking the streets of Imperial controlled towns such as Theed and Bestine, showing off their sabers and force powers, with no opposition at all. This game is supposed to take place between Ep 4 and 5, btw.
I started my character June 29, and as of right now I've mastered a combat profession (TKA) and have around 2 million credits in the bank. Due to the combat inbalance, you can pull in around 500k-1mil credits every three hours doing "solo group" missions (that is to say, a bunch of people max out a group in order to gain access to ~35k reward destroy missions and go solo the missions for the full payout). I don't know anyone (aside from guilds) that currently group for the actual purpose of cooperative gameplay.
I played the beta, and for the buggy POS that it was, at LEAST there was some sense of community. People would form hunting parties and such on the high level planets. Now it's all about getting buffed by a master doctor for 3 hours and soloing (whether for credits or xp). The whole routine is wearing a bit thin, and I'm not sure I'll renew until JTL and/or they fix the combat balance problem.
I'm currently running the Windows version of Mozilla 1.5 over IE. I recently downloaded the SVG-enabled version of Mozilla, and it's pretty neat. Any ideas when SVG support will be officially merged into the Mozilla stable tree?
Sega ships the Saturn before Sony ships the PS1 -- Sega gets dominated (despite the fact that the Saturn was a superior console in terms of hardware).
Sega then ships the Dreamcast a whole year before the PS2, and gets trounced once again.
I suppose it could be partly blamed on bad marketing, but the real problem was that Sega never had any real franchise titles on the Saturn or Dreamcast (despite the Sonic rehashes). Sony will dominate for years to come, simply because they have the best titles -- the FF and GTA series' alone will sell millions of PS3 boxes.
Start the build, go see LotR, come back to a nice compiled result - unless of course you enjoy watching the compiler do its thing, line by line. If so, you could always redirect stdout to a file and watch the instant replay when you return.
I remember playing "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiago?" on my friends' Apple II at the tender age of 10, we had a blast and learned (gasp) something at the same time.
Not to be topped by the first time I played Doom, however...;)

I've been using Notepad2. It's supports syntax highlighting and is fast, free and open source!
He works for SCO.

I have not had one popup since I fully switched to FireFox (around 6 months ago).
There is also a FireFox extension that blocks those annoying Flash popunder ads.
"You'd be surprised what someone can remember... if properly 'motivated'..."
SCO would beg to differ...
Scorpio you're totally mad!

You're not alone! I have used Slackware exclusively for years, and will likely continue to do so for many years to come.
I have a feeling that the shameless Debian plug will generate more discussion than the subject of the article -- and yes, there is another option. ;)
If the 'most experienced' internet users spend an average of 15.8 hours a week online, what the hell does that make me? (Most Experienced)?

Just like how the parents in that new Wendy's commercial named their kid "Junior" after a hamburger...
Windows isn't as portable as Linux or NetBSD.
Is XFree96, like, '10 louder' than XFree86?
What a time to be alive...!

Merry Christmas to you too!
