    That's even better. You could type a bunch of Cyrillic characters and English speakers would swear that it's Russian, while Russian speakers say "WTF", or whatever that is in Russian.

  2. Carol didn't call herself "Captain" then, so technically the above poster is correct.

  3. The comic wasn't called Captain Marvel. The character was, at least in my day (60s 70s maybe 80s)

  4. I'm a lot more familiar with Ms Marvel, then I am with the Kree captain. She IS the one I grew up with, excluding the Big Red Cheese from the Direct Competition of course.

    Can you imagine how hard it would be to write an omnipotent character in a superhero story. That would have to be the most boring story ever.

    Unfortunately, the ads ARE for the product I just bought, so yes, the algorithms were designed by complete cretins. Personalized ads need to FOAD.

    My mom had an appointment with the gas company. She missed it because they didn't leave a message. The only legitimate calls I get on my landline is from my mother and my brother. Everything else is spam. Even my cellphone is getting more and more spam.

    Seriously, the good thing about a forum like this is, if someone spouts BS, the people will jump on them. Of course, if it's not BS, they'll still get jumped on, but at least there's a chance of reading both sides.

    I have a 4 year old iPhone 6. It works fine. I have no plans to replace it.

    ^This. I can't think of any features in the newer phones that I want. Especially at current prices.

    When I bought my first house, all I could afford was a 100 y/o house in a questionable area. Even in that area, the house prices have increased, but the prices in the good areas have increased more and faster. Even with a higher income and more savings, it would be difficult to move out of that area.

    Plus, my mom lives nearby and she's at the age that she needs my help getting to the store, appointments, etc.

    When I moved from my first house to my second, the mover had to point out that he had a minimum charge. I was in that house for 2 decades, and when I moved to my current house, I had to get rid of a bleepload of stuff before moving and I still had at least 10X what I did for the previous move.

    The fact that installing Linux is often a PITA. Dual-boot and have Windows fsck up your boot-loader? Figure out this UEFI stuff? Ugh! Not to mention hardware that's crap under Linux.

    Now if you get a box that actually works well with Linux, or better still comes with it pre-installed, that's an entirely different experience.
