Clone cartridges (at least for Lexmarks) SUCK.

They drop toner all over in the printers. I hate cleaning them up (but love charging the customers for it.). No one ever considers the extra cleanings that need to be done because of those cartridges.

I couldn't even count how many times a customer had a print quality issue (toner being dropped all over the pages or 'image ghosts' from dead image drums) that was fixed by a $110 service call and a new toner cartridge.

No one ever learns. Keeps me in business, though.

    What kind of salt?

Do you need a filter to keep the salt out of the water as it runs through the tubing?

I like the mini fridge idea. I may just try something like that. I have a closet I could put the coils in. I could then put an exhaust fan in the closet to blow the hot air outside.

How do you control the temperature? Just plug it in/unplug it when it's too warm/cold?

How much does it cost you to run it (or is there no huge difference?)

See that? "or standard analog television set". That's exactly what the OP was wanting. The $388 RCA that is also listed will not work for what the OP wanted, you are correct there. The US DIgital for just under $200 will work for what he wanted.

There would just be a bunch of squabbling, propriitary (Blu-ray and HD-DVD) standards out there (Standard gauge and narrow gauge) that are just about the same damn thing, but don't really work (Unix and Windows) together.

Actually, there wouldn't. One of them would have something extreamly popular on and a majority of the people would flock to it. Once that happened, they'd have more money to get more extreamly popular stuff, furthering the flocking to them.

That's how things have worked for hundreds of years. That's why I think tons of people are going to flock to Sirius instead of XM (Howard Stern). XM added Anthany and Opie but I've never heard of them and after having listened to their show, I won't be doing so again.

I doubt they could work for converting digital cable or satellite, however, cable and satellite companies are going to have their own boxes anyway. All theese will do is allow you to grab the digital signal from your local TV stations and put them onto current TV's.

There isn't any reason that Verizon (or any other telco/cable provider) can't provide service as good or better for a very similar fee. Hell, the local government STILL has to go through the TELCO to get their connection anyway!

I hated not being able to use DialPad (that should date about when I had the hardware) or play Asheron's Call with it, so I eventually switched back to dialup.

'Course, those in power at Starband that decided to force us into the "WinModem" of the StarBand world (The model 360) from our nice 180's helped me decide to shitcan Starband.

This type of access has been available for years (mostly in businesses). Why a guy in the middle of nowhere with a satellite connection is "stuff that matters" is beyond me.
