I haven't noticed much more movies in the games I've played compared to, let's say 360. Or did you think BD that came with the console was a game? What I've noticed is that I still haven't had to change discs to get the textures on the next event.
By the way, you cannot do calculations they way you're doing it... it's just not how it works
Every thing in Norway does, and lots of other countries in Europe too...:)
My cellphone has 5 years warranty;) My TV has got 5 years warranty;) My PS3 has got 5 years warranty;) My etc...
This does not apply for parts that are worn out because of heavy use like batteries in laptops and mobile phones (1 year warranty on batteries) or lasers in PS2s, but for anything else "supposed to last for 5 years or more" there is a 5 year warranty against production error.
In other words... Microsoft would've had to fix the "ring of death" units in Norway for free even though they hadn't extended this warranty, unless they can prove it is the users fault and not theirs. One of the reasons why everything is more expensive here? Might be:) But at least it covers our asses:)
I actually think Sony knows this, but the fact is that if people are just gonna buy the PS3 to use it for Free software, they will lose alot of money... The restrictions might start to fall one by one as soon as they start making money on the hardware...
Apple cannot complain this on SOX. And there is nothing in the revenue recognition requirements of US-GAAP that requires them to do this the way stated by the article!
This has only, and I want to mention only again, to do with Apples internal controls.
However, the cost of manufactoring them will go down, so the loss will decrease after a while, so they will not lose close to USD 300 on each unit, only the first few batches
Why not consider the fact that Wii might get redundant - I know it already is in the playstation market because of eyetoy, and I've heard rumors of a "eyetoy-like" camera for the 360 as well.
The new machines with even more processor strenght will be able to calculate more movements, and in fact, you could probably be able to play the same games on a ps3 or 360 as you do with a Wii now in a year or so.
They needed more storage on the media, 9gb of DVD wasn't enough, so they had to include something else. HD-DVD wasn't an option, what's left but "their own" Blue-Rary?
I'm so sick and tired of people complaining about the Blue-Ray format in the PS3 - it's there for a reason, and the reason is not only movies!

What car do you have?

Now, where's my damn mod-points when I need them?
Isn't there already a plastic surgeon creating bio-fuel for liposuctions?
For the rest of you, there are vehicles that run on fat stored in the body already... They're called bicycles!
Not only do you get from A to B faster than when you walk, you actually are working out while you are doing it!
Can you blame the news makers?
For 360 - only thing remotely interesting is Halo 3
For Wii - you'll be getting the much awaited "operating room" & "learn to cook with mum" or whatever they're called...
Hmmm.... you say what?
Just make a new controller that cost anoter 50-60$ and you've got the same function on 360 and PS3, with better hardware...
They are talking about next-gen
No, we don't build our own if we can get them from dell cheaper!
There's not 1m sitting on the shelves in NA
... that's where the figure is from
There was 1m for the PAL launch
What's this talk about Halo? Too me it seems like the only selling point MS can find for the 360, and I don't even like FPS!
Halo this, and Halo that... I'll watch the movie, but I won't play the game!
No we won't... actually we'll put up alot more!
got my new 42" LCD yesterday.... $2000, the PS3 in Norway, close to $1000 (9 days left!!!!), already got 2 games and an extra six-axis for $200+++...
already "spent" $3200 - and you can count the games I've played the last 6 months apart from Buzz, guitarhero and Singstar on one finger!
Just say it out loud: Europeans are too filthy rich!
My suggestion is that you read a bit more about Home before making such statements.
:D
And no, it's not only a 12 year-olds fantasy sim. All the girls will love it! Think about the possibilites of speed-dating!
Food coupon from some japanese news paper?
It really is a piece of s***! Nothing new with it!
Investigate if you might be covered by whistleblower protection laws!

Have you seen tixel and pixel fly?
Now that's impressive!
However, the cell-qoute was not so...
We have no need for DVD Jon, as there is more to do, than to write a GUI
Fax?
We stopped using that 5 years ago
You're using WinME still, aren't you?
I've never had any of those failures you mention, and I've also had support responsibility for over 700 win2k pc's
And, oh yeah - it works on linux too

Us casual/non-gamers already have a ps2 with buzz, singstar and eye-toy!
I've broken more sweat than your dad playing eye-toy boxing or kinetic! Actually - I'm more fit now than when I got my PS2

This explains why PS3 probably will win.
Playstation is a synonym for gaming console for non-gamers
