>> Blackberry was great 5 years ago, but things move fast and a horrible b&w device
Odd... my blackberry has a nice color screen and downloadable applications such as instant messaging and games. If you're gonna complain about a product, try not picking one from the past.
I'm waiting for your rants on Windows 95 not working with your DV cam in the next Windows Vista story.
You're all asking me for Jack's Email and or phone number and I respect that. The problem is that I can't give that info out. The fact is that Jack had time to call me after I sent him a sarcastic email. I have no doubt in my mind that he would try and pull some legal bullshit if I post his phone number.
>> no i don't think they did give out his e-mail he's just a jackass
well they didn't directly but they did link post this:

There is a great greasemonkey (firefox extension) script that re-coded everything to appear as the main page does but since the changes on this site the "slashdot recolor" doesn't work.. hopefully an updated version becomes available.
It's doubly a shame because, unlike so many other patents that we've seen here, this one is actually creative and non-obvious.
Patents CAN be good, but in the current state the patent system is in it gets abused. But here we have someone using the patent system as it was designed, to protect non-obvious ideas and they can't fight it.
Reminds me of a tech support call from 5 years ago.
The guy kept complaining since he visited a certain website a little animated woman was dancing on his task bar and offering him more pictures of her for $30.
I thought about this for a moment and asked...
"For $35 I'll help you remove her but for only $30 you can have more pictures... you're sure you want to go ahead with this?"
People are severely over complicating this problem.
While making things last as long as possible is a good thing, you can't plan for 100 years down the road. You have NO idea what will truly happen.
There needs to be a system to move data from older mediums to newer mediums every few years as they become available. Multiple copies, with verification. Checking. Double checking.
GTA 1 and 2 are free downloads now from RockStar...

I've been playing Civ3 on a pentium M lately and it's still way too slow when the game gets into the modern age.
:)
As soon as your PC hits the modern age you'll be fine
Well it rolls off the tongue better then what they were originally going to name the company "Full of Nazi Patent Whores Wireless".

Check out the "VG cats?" link which I myself have not done.

for the love of god, I quoted the original slashdot blurb
Whitedust Security are reporting on a new exploit for Firefox which apparently affects all version of the browser below 1.0.7
That is what was originally written in the summary, it was edited after I posted this so relax. I'm glad I quoted it....
It's not 24 hours, it's that they are still testing and will update the site within 24 hours. :)
The article was edited, it originally stated below 1.07.
>>Whitedust Security are reporting on a new exploit for Firefox which apparently affects all version of the >>browser below 1.0.7. From the article:
contrary to how the article makes it sound, 1.0.7 is indeed affected by this.
Actually I rather like Rational Clearquest.
Thats scary... I got around Japan with those same two phrases... (thank you and one beer please)
>> Increased O2 levels and sunlight are the two that come to mind.
>> And who knows, maybe there are other ones we haven't thought of.
They may as well test it now on animals.... before the US withdraws and the Iraqi people get to test this theory...
Sony pictures has hired a band of rogue ninjas to kill Kirsten Dunst.

You may want to add some more RAM and move up to 8 MB..... 4 MB just doesn't cut it for a lot of applications.

It's a significant point of weakness...
ActiveX is the screen door on the Internet Explorer Submarine.
Index a mans fish and he can eat for a day...
Teach a man how to index fish and he doesn't need to keep using your software/service...
Or something like that...
It sounded better in my head.
... compared to my favourite new game.

Whats to stop them from transfering from one medium to another every year (or 5, or 10). Make 5 copies to the new medium and then verify.
Rinse and repeat from CD to DVD to DVD+DL to BD to ???
As long as someone is actively responsible for this....
vbuzzer also has an instant messenger combined with VOIP (which I use to call and get calls from landlines)
What about the dream scenes in Max Payne? The player relived the murder of his wife and child with erie music and moving walls/floors....
