Honestly come on now, does anyone even really think they can pull the power to pass such a thing? legally, they cant, its impossible, for one how will they regulate it? second, im sure everyone affected will tell them to blow them, hard.
it will never go through, they simply dont have such a power.
I dont know much about them, but my father inlaw seems to get a virus on his mac pretty much weekly. mostly when he ran os9, but still some even in his switch to osx. As far as I know, all of them have come from emails, and mostly from his contacts out of country. But then again, he used outlook for his email. So it can be assured that if you have any MS products, its gona get toasted.
Yea, you are right, its outdated, thats why Hitler banned guns to his citizens, so they couldnt fight back when he went on his reign of terror. Good idea there junior. And when the founding fathers said its time to trash a cumbersom gov and rebuild it back with the const. in mind, that would never happen w/out guns.

Ok, here is how it works. Read very closly, and ask a lawyer or paralegal if you feel like it. If you claim that you are a "citizen of the united states of america" that takes you SO Far out of federal law its not funny. If you claim you are a "U.S. Citizen" Then you are telling the government you are one of theirs, a citizen of the government directly. (DC, Guam, virigin islands, america samoa) I have a reply back from Barbara B. Kennelly, member of congress, that states there IS a difference between the 2 citizen types. And in her letter it plainly states that in title 26 (for example) the term "state" means ONLY D.C, Guam, Purto Rico, Virgin Islands and America Samoa. and that the "50 states" are NOT considered a state in Title 26 (thats the income tax section) I know that the tax section is off topic, but the general place of the 2 types of citizenship apply to almost all of the USC. Im not a lawyer, but I have asked a few lawyers and many paralegals and it seems they agree this information is right on track.

By not going thru washington, and going thru a local court, its not as easy to get the U.S. Citizen vs. citizen of the united states of america argument. its still possible, but harder. if it comes from washington, and you claim your citizenship (IE citizen of the united states of america not US Citizen) then washington cant do a damn thing to you.
How can the courts do that? because noone has challenged them yet. This is just like why we broke away from england. That was a revolution, and its what we need now, they keep taking rights away so slowly we get used to it, then they take some more, i highly recommend everyone read "the federalist papers" it was written by the founding fathers and what they REALLY meant in great detail when they wrote the constitution, among other great topics.
its still "We the people..." right? it was supposed to be each state ran by the state by the people. NOT the federal government running the whole show! Im by no means a conspiracy theorist. Who was is, ben franklin that said we need a revolution every 200 years to keep the government in line? how old is this country?

I dont know alot about IP laws and all of that matter, but... Can MS be held liable for using Unix ideas or open source ideas? For example, Unix as far back as I know has had the ability to stop and restart pretty much all services, without rebooting, Untill win2k came along, if you changed your network settings in windows you had to reboot, now 2k and xp stop and restart the networking services. No reboot. There are many many "ideas?" they have incorporated into windows that has always or for quite some time has existed in *nix platforms. Its no news that MS has always taken 90% of their "innovative ideas" from others OS's but where can the line be drawn?
Drinking water is one of the best things, but you wont be healthy unless you workout, AND eat healthy food. Think about it like this, your cells are constantly dieing and rebuilding, if you eat junk your body can only build junk, if you eat good food your body has all the good raw materials for building healty cells. If you dont workout, your heart and lungs are getting weak, among everything else. The discomfort of working out doesnt last long, and you will eventually get to the point where you really feel bad if you miss a workout.
sure walking is good for you, but if you arent pushing yourself, reaching higher, you hit a plateu. I personally like going to the gym (rather than working out at home), but you dont have to, and you can spend just a very small amount of money on some dumbbells and get everything you need (curls, press, db squats, walking lunges, shoulder press, for back db pullovers) everything you need. I personally use the bodyforlife plan, i do cardio 20 short minutes 3 days a week, weights 3 days a week for only 45 minutes. whats that just over 3 hours a week i workout? not very much and I have had great results. (I also get to eat 6 times a day! wooohoooo) BTW, there are many college studies showing the ill side effects of long term atkin diet use, just google them. All the pro's I have seen have no scientific backups, all the cons do.
We should ask congress their definition of "United States" because I know for a fact that in other sections of the USC that "United States" and "U.S." mean ONLY DC, guam, virgin islands and america samoa. So if this is the case with their new bill, if you arent a citizen of one of those territories or living in one of them, there really is nothing to worry about but pointless threats.
After watching "bowling for columbine" and see'ing that kids in other countries play the same games, watch the same movies, listen to the same music, But the murder rates are much lower. The one thing that was different between the US and the other countries (is not gun control) is that the news doesnt report so much woe and grief. thats pretty much the main difference. What really bugs me is so many people want to control guns, but in canada about half of the people that are old enough to own a gun, do, and the murder rate is freakishly low.
Well i guess it all comes down to if you are a U.S. Citizen or a citizen of the united states of america. Wake up kids, there is a difference in the law in the meaning of those 2 terms. The first means you are under federal law, the second means you are under common law and a free citizen. There is alot more to the law than that, but once you understand those 2 points, you start to understand how much or how little hold the federal laws have on you. People usually just read a law and assume they are a U.S. citizen, the definitions are IN the law if you just read it.
Ok so, we all know that the artists make their money from shirt, shows, all that stuff, its only the record companies making money on CDs (and tapes) So why not develop some sort of GPL for mp3's so that radio stations dont have to worry about playing the songs and legal entanglements, and artists can work on their own, sending music directly to the stations and end users, via p2p and web sites. Then use the same sources to promote their tours and shirts and hats and all that crap. We do away with the record companies all together, and the bands make the same amount of money they always have. Since the record companies wont realize that lowering CD prices are a way to greatly slow piracy (i know if i could go buy the music i wanted for very cheap, even $8 a CD id do that rather than p2p) The record companies are dieing, they are just to stupid to realize it and go get real jobs.
Music law has a better chance of changing than drug laws. Drugs do kill people, songs dont. 90% (maybe more) of americans DONT want to buy a CD just for the one song they like. Most dont even want to pay for it if there is one or two songs they dont like. The business model CAN change for music online to make it work. There will always be people who download it for free but given the right model, many people will want to get it legit and not have to worry about any legal woes. I was just looking at rhapsody, i almost signed up for it but it has a monthly subscription in addition to a per song fee. For a per song fee ONLY i would have signed up. just an example.
First of all, the word "spam" has been used for BS email for how long? and they are just now saying something? I think there should be some sort of time limit on this crap, everyone is so damn lawsuite happy anymore.
Second, spam sucks, no matter if its the junk email or the fake meat. spam mail kills servers, spam "meat?" kills people.
I went to their site, filled out the form to see if their dsl was available in my area, and damn i got 6 emails from them in one week wanting me to call them to setup dsl, i was just checking, i finally had to email them back and tell them to stop harassing me. I also told them I would not sign up with them just for the simple fact they badgered me so much to sign up. Besides their prices sucked hard compared to 2 other companies I looked at, and the speed was lower.
It may not be free, it may have a bit of a price tag on it. but Lotus notes/Domino will share calendars, server up webmail, i really like its security(notes id file, like carying around your pgp ID). can be ran on linux so as to scan for virii before it hits any winblowz boxes, and while they dont make a linux client anymore, it does work flawlessly when installed with wine. I admin'd domino when i worked for a very large company, and the more i used it, and took a class, i saw even they did not use it to its full potential, in plain english, its a freaking bad ass mail server.
The company i work for uses a good deal of redhat for workstations and high end servers. Even our NT admin converted to redhat and uses vmware for when he needs to run NT. I personally now run debian at work, and am trying to get them to change to deb. After using redhat for many months here, then changing to debian, ill never go back to RH. It can be a pain to get installed, but once there, its solid. where as on redhat I had lots of dep issues because I was always installing cutting edge crap. I have done the same on debian, but with alot less issues. With in a few weeks ill have the chance to change over our DNS server to debian. And onward from there...
