  1. ergo mice on Suggestions for an Ergonomic Mouse? · · Score: 1

I've read a few things on the net which state that reducing palm down position reduces pain. Apparently, the natural position for your hand and wrist is palm inwards. Here is one of the palm in style ergo mice I found:

Hear that. I don't mind acknowledging that I am not competitive with software designers in St. Petersburg if the 'other side' could acknowledge they are overpaid; perhaps much more than we are. Palo Alto was so expensive to live in firefighters were living in shelters at one point - is that right for a guy risking his life for 45-60k a year? (I dunno the figure)

A lot of free-market purists say the market rights itself but if so then why are we still subsidizing farmers? Many people, perhaps too many make sacrifices to do the job they love. Who'd really want to have a career in the military, FBI or CIA at this point? Get shot for 20-30 years for 50k a year and a pension? If you're smart enough to be in the CIA you could do a CEO's job. Models won't get out of bed for less than $10,000 a day, CEOs can rob my mom of her retirement, and yet I'm supposed to feel guilty for my salary?

I feel I get paid enough to have the American dream - you work hard and you can have a career, own a (small) place, put a car in the garage, and maybe still afford a kid if you and your lady make enough. Carly would disagree - it's not our god-given right to have a job - but nobody's outsourcing her job, or thinning her multi-million dollar a year salary... yet.

Who says it hasn't happened already? I remember when the Internet only exercised censorship over advertisements. Now the ads are free, the naked girls aren't, and if you wanted to see how a bomb works the FBI and the CIA will fight over who gets to shoot you first.

(Not that I ever download, or condone the use of pornography, or building bombs. Please don't shoot me, Ashcroft. =))

This thing's going to be three times as heavy as an ipod and twice as long - for 700-800 bucks you can just buy a cheap notebook instead.

What makes the ipod rock is that it's really small and offers more than enough storage. Who wants to lug around something twice as big three times as heavy?

Man, I wish I could go on a world tour! I say go for it, friend! If you've got no commitments then you'll never get a better opportunity! Do it for me! =) I'm sitting here 30 something, married, and mortgage payment included so I'll never get that chance, plus, I suck as a musician. =) After all, you could spend four months hunting after it's all said and done, or it could become permanant. Taking a year off to do a world tour as a musician isn't the same to me as not being able to land a job... If you put it on your resume all us 30-something guys would understand right? Who wouldn't want to be a rock star for a little while? =)

  25. Re:population on OpEd Piece on Extended Life Expectancy · · Score: 1

Well, the population explosion tends to be in 2nd and 3rd world countries such as Brazil. In many of those countries there is an economic incentive to have children for the labor they can provide for the family; this is the inverse of much of the Western world where children are expensive and cannot be used for labor.

We might be spared an initial population explosio since this technology I assume would only be available in 1st world countries, where the number of children produced by a couple is 1.8-3? (an old stat, does it include out-of-wedlock children? dunno)

There might have to be some Methusulah(sp?) legislation to limit the number of children these people can have, etc.
