Peak was not 14 people on monday morning. Perhaps instead of FAILING the line, pay attention to what happens over the next year or two.

I'm going to have to continue to call shennanigans on the republican influnces here -- its not even pragmatic anymore -- its just about emulating Krinkie and his merry band.

Something like 14 people is nowhere what I've actually seen.

Metro Transit reported that about 11,800 people rode the Hiawatha Light Rail line Monday, its first day of regular service.

The ridership figure is based on a sampling of 30 percent of all train trips operated Monday. Staff members counted the number of customers boarding at each station, regardless of how they reached the light rail line.

Now the operating costs are far differen't -- I'll admit.

It wasn't money avaliable for a stadium or other costs.

We have insufficient highway infrastructure. Take a look at highway 252 sometime. Anoka County has one of the worst commutes in the nation and the region.

Also, from the linked page (perhaps read your sources first?):

"All of the PCS technologies try to minimize battery consumption during calls by keeping the transmission of unnecessary data to a minimum. The phone decides whether or not you are presently speaking, or if the sound it hears is just background noise. If the phone determines that there is no intelligent data to transmit, it blanks the audio and it reduces the transmitter duty cycle (in the case of TDMA) or the number of transmitted bits (in the case of CDMA). When the audio is blanked, your caller would suddenly find themselves listening to "dead air", and this may cause them to think the call has dropped."

Which comes back around to, if phones had decent microphones -- you wouldn't be expecting the rush of awful background noise all the time.

And no, they don't introduce clicks and pops -- my phone routinely goes silent -- I would blame that on crappy phones.

Sorry for them, the legal system awards that small amount and the groups insurance goes up. Why not take the licensing away (nationally) of any doctors in their peer group that get sued and settle *or* lose. I bet their insurance costs would go down then.

I bet thats not the case today, however. It's far easier to blame the patient for the realities of what the current insurance system demands:
