    umm, and GNU cat is no longer actively maintained, while GNU yes is still basically the same app it was from version 1.0.
    At some point after you have written something you can finish. Other than bugfixes make couldn't really be improved without making it into something else.

    MySQL was never stolen, the same people that wrote it also released a commercial version.

    The price/perfomance ratio can't be beat. HDMI/DVI cables tend to be expensive. RCA cables in comparison are quite cheap even good ones.

    Dark matter was created out of a need to explain empirical evidence because the motion of the galaxy did not fit our model of gravity. Same thing really.

    The researcher looking and analyzing this data, might not be the type of researcher that works with mice. Even if he was, he would probably get this paper our once this discovery was made. Another one after knocking the gene off.

    This is two datapoints. The evidence for correlation is not strong.

    Two datapoints are not statistically significant, for correlation.
    Yeah, they found a gene that is alot more common in humans than monkeys. There are probably other such genes appearing by chance. They just happened to find one. They can use it as the basis for more study. Though there aren't many conclusions that can yet be drawn.

    I'll third that and say that much to my surprise the difference in quality was very dicernable on my builtin laptop speakers. These speakers sound like shit no matter what. Yet the 160kbps sounds quite a bit less shitty.
