The numbers I was told by a person who owned a warehouse and moved his product to Amazon, had square footage from Amazon a fraction of what it would cost himself to warehouse it. He's cutting out two full time employees. I imagine that would offset fees quite a bit.

I'm in Vancouver area and their warehouse seems to have their shit together. Same day delivery is available at my friends place 20 minutes away. Order by noon, guaranteed by 9pm, but so far always delivered by 6:30pm. Saturday and Sunday delivery available. I've ordered stuff late Friday night and was delivered by Canada Post on Monday. No one else can shave off a business day with Canada post. The only company that impresses me as much is Digikey and FedEx. Placed order at 5:48pm. On FedEx truck at 6:08pm, delivered to another Country by noon next day, for $8 Canadian.

I'm in Canada. A few years ago, I was looking for good QA testers. We were paying low 40k's a year for local people with college degrees. I get a call from one of these job placement type companies in the area. He's going on about how much cheaper to have a team in India to help productivity and what not. They had 4 weeks vacation and 10 days of paid training a year factored in (we start with two weeks vacation). I started off thinking I was going to get people for 12k-25k per year per person. The cost per person was $60k a year. I never talked to the company again.
