I've alway paid about $80 to $90 for a Logitech mouse, going back to 1991. You get what you pay for...however, the recent SetPoint drivers have really driven down the quality of otherwise excellent hardware.
When I turned on my Samsung Omnia for the first time, Windows Mobile OS *asked* me if I wanted to send crash data or not. I declined, but appreciated that they're civil enough to ask up-front.
Look up "prole drift." More people have opportunities to better themselves than ever before; now *everyone* has a chance to run a shady business and abuse their positions of power. Things like grass lawns and vacations also used to be the exclusive playthings of the wealthy.
The free market solution is much simpler...just use Roku or Xbox 360 for Netflix or AppleTV for TV & movies. Xbox 360 was updated last night so I can browse Netflix on my console instead of searching for movies and adding them to my instant queue on my computer.
Youtube looks great when I watch it on my HDTV using AppleTV. The device pulls in the highest quality version of the video. Videos whose sources were crappy still look like crap, of course.
If you're the type of person whose mind is so fragile that it will be damaged by advertising, you're probably getting screwed over in life in so many other ways that you're not even aware of. The attitude around here that a couple ads on a site are a personal attack on your well-being is child-like. Slashdot itself has a "disable advertising" button I can press to turn off ads...how hard are you guys trying to go out of business by pandering to these types?
You can right-click any button or command in Office 2007 and add it to your "Quick Access Toolbar." Press Control-F1 to hide the ribbon and you're good to go. This gives me more screen real estate for Excel than I had with Office 2003.
There's an entire "Insert" tab and "insert file" is the first option. It's a very big button on my 15.4 inch laptop screen. I don't think the problem was Office in this case.
There is no such thing as cyberspace. This sounds more like a civil matter than a criminal one, or at least a case of fraud. The fact that a local constable was called when maybe a DA would be more appropriate blurs nothing.
I'm working on about 10-12 projects at any given time and I work from 9 to 5 (more like 8 to 6, but whatever). Where I do my work isn't so important (although I do like having my office several miles from my home) since I'm always working on my laptop, but *when* I work is important. It's good to have a consistent block of time for work so you can give yourself an opportunity to enjoy life.
If we became truly energy independent and spread the cost of healthcare around, we could use the savings to become more powerful than ever! Luckily no one outside the US reads Slashdot, so I hope I didn't give anything away.
I've got 2 PlayOn licenses for 2 houses; it is a lifesaver because it pretty much kills cable for me (along with Netflix and video podcasts). Make sure you check out playonplugins.com to download more stream plugins. I've got Adult Swim, HGTV and a few other networks added. Not my thing, but you can also download plugins for pr0n from RedTube. The newest version of PlayOn lets you stream local files saved on your computer.
I don't see this as a bad thing; I find it refreshing to watch a show and have them directly thank the sponsor for supporting the programming. It's right out there and they aren't trying to bullshit you with annoying product placements.
If their podcast directory includes online-only networks like Revision3, this will be huge. Going to their site, I see they have Diggnation and other Revision3 shows. Diggnation has a huge following. There's a lot of good, original programing on Next New Networks as well as ON Networks. I ignore all the breadcrumbs that the larger commercial networks pass off as podcasts.
Unfortunately, starting with BASIC as your first computer language is the metaphorical equivalent of eating a steady diet of lead-based paint chips as a child and hoping to get into medical school as a young adult.

Shhhh!!!! It's the terrible secret of space...
You'd have to be pretty experienced to last that long!
You'd think Jesus was the commander of the Air Force if you've ever visited their facilities.
I have a feeling this thread is going to gather so many spelling and grammar nazis that you'd think you were in Buenos Aires!
I think they start out as the latter and turn into the former.

I don't think having to include everyone is a requirement for getting off the planet. Those who can, will, and those who can't, will die.

I was already going to Quebec this week and now you've got me wanting to try some horse meat!
If everything is paid out as compensation, the production technically doesn't earn a profit, but the all of the players were still paid.
The original copyright duration was for 14 years, period, none of this life of the author nonsense.
Bill Clinton is going to be all over me like I was a Christmas ham! (or a chubby intern)
