Doing something constructive is better than sitting on your ass all day. Even if you're independently wealthy, you need to have something to keep yourself busy, even if it isn't a typical job...ie charity work, building stuff, traveling. Having a sense of accomplishment requires you to work, no matter what your means are.
Getting rid of rogue programs and troublemakers is not the same as moderating content. For example, if Comcast tech support walks me through the steps to get rid of some spyware on my computer that's screwing with their network, are they actively monitoring "content?" No, they're fixing a technical problem.
Is anyone other than NASA/ESA able to intercept the transmissions from the Cassini probe and do anything useful with the feed, or any other probe sent out in the last 30-some years for that matter?
Unfortunately, Verizon neuters the Bluetooth capabilities of their phones to force you into using their for-pay services to send pictures and get programs/ringtones, etc.
If your lifespan is that long, you'll probably be fit as a fiddle at 65 and could go on working for several centuries longer. The retirement age would get raised to 900-something.
A typical season for the "better quality" shows are only 6-12 episodes. See: The Shield, Sopranos, Carnivale, pretty much anything on the BBC. That requires some nice, tight writing. Drivel like Friends gets milked for 24 episodes.
I was in the same boat...two component inputs, but HD cable box, prog-scan DVD player and Playstation 2. I bought a component video switch box for $100 at Best Buy (as well as a component connector for the PS2). Now I have 9 component inputs (8 on the box and 1 free on the TV).
Btw, do yourself a favor, get the $10 component video adapter from Mad Catz which works with either Xbox or PS2. Sony's adaptor was $25 and I imagine Xbox's branded adaptor costs as much.
I've been using the PointClark dynamic DNS service that is associated with the ClarkConnect Linux distribution. I run an SSH server for tunneling with Squid and sometimes Apache to stream music from home (password protected; access limited to my IP address at work). Comcast doesn't say "boo."
Their terms of service are as flexible as my options...if Comcast doesn't want me to run a piddly little personal server, I can take my business to a number of DSL providers.
Or, for those not on a melodramatic drama queen rant...
Mp3 players to listen to Ludwig Van. HDTV to watch Nova on PBS-HD. Digital Cameras to take pictures of your family. Cell phones to call home and see how your wife is. Ring tones for something fun and quirky.
It just seems like there is no real progress here, only just more junk.....bitch bitch bitch.
I have a 12" iBook, too. Here's a free tip: If you're just reading and not listing to any music, put the volume down and the battery life will be longer. For whatever reason, even if there is no sound playing, my battery life goes up when I put the volume down. Also, if you're in a decently lit room, the iBook display is perfectly readable at 3-4 "brightness units" above the lowest brightness setting.
"Am I right? I do hope that less than 1/3 of the population uses marijuana, as it's illegal."
I don't know crap about the statistics, but I'd guess the % is at least equal to the % of the population that was drinking during the prohibition of alcohol.

And he still won't look a day over 20!

Harold and Kumar Go to WhiteCastle was pretty good, too.

Would you settle for Soundwave break dancing?

As soon as I read your sig, I thought of the SCOpes Monkey Trial. Hmm...wonder why :)
Blasting off into space is now as easy as 1-click!

Of course, "finding" implies that what you're looking for is actually there. What if it isn't? I kind of like MS's "aim low" approach on this issue :)

Doing this gets me about 4-5 hours at a time.
Hmm...that link finally explains why all of my mom's audio tapes from Yugoslavia sound like Mexican music. Thanks :-)
I thought they were the Wachowski siblings now, since one of them got a sex change.
Walt Mossberg (their tech columnist) was advocating the use of Firefox (and OS X) in his column well before the ad in the New York Times. Just saying.

Hell, 70% of people know that!
If you remove your car's antenna, that might help with the xmitter signal.
