The notion of teleportation in regards to the destruction and rebuilding of an object reminds me of this book I read a while ago. I forget what it was called, but it was about a boy and some robots and they were trapped in some maze thing or something. Anyway, it explained the teleportation of matter in this way. And it had some interesting points on the morality of teleportation transportation.
For example, what are the theological or philosophical repercussions of killing and rebuilding your physical self?
I have been looking for something like this to take to concerts. An easily concealed camera that could be put into your wallet would be quite useful in getting past those pat downs. Anyone know of any similarly concealable products with better resolutions?
Also I read about a few camera / cell phone combos with less than stellar performance, Why can't they make a camera that just "looks" like a cell phone? It could along with the binocular flask.
In my highschool ma guy got expelled for hacking because he changed the dos prompt to read " Rules:>". So I'd say we probably didn't have a liberal computing environment.
Actually one of the stipulations that recording friendly bands make is that people cannot sell the recordings so the most you should ever pay is the cost of a blank cd and a stamp. That $15 you paid for your radio could have been 10 Radiohead Shows. (Or one copy of Phish 12/31/99 ha.)
Raido Sucks? So what?

So what? I haven't listened to music on the radio since high school. Why? Well I can decide what I want to listen to for myself. If you can't investigate new music on your own then the radio telling you what to like shouldn't be a concern of yours.
Checkout some independent or smaller labels. Labels like Matador Records, Prawn Song, Fat Wreck, and may others. It's a shame that labels like Grand Royal were forced out of business for not force-feeding the status quo. Read Nude As The News for non mainstream album reviews.
Find a band you Like and check out their influences. This is a good way to find new stuff to listen to. Like Led Zeppelin? Listen to Muddy Waters. Like Trey Solo? Listen to Count Basie, Sun Ra, or Little Feet. Like Primus? Listen To Rush. Ect.
GO SEE LIVE MUSIC! If you live near a large city there are tons of show to go see, there are some good websites dedicated to finding shows in your area. Check out Jambase for example.
Trade Live Music! There are several communities for the trading of live tapes, a large number of bands ok the taping of their shows and the thousands of tapes are out there for free. One Such community Etree is a great example of this.
Listen to College radio if you live near one!
Don't complain about the lack of variety on the radio, just don't listen to it.
I heard they're going to Americanise The Great Escape next, I find it quite amusing actually, a young nation having to appropriate other people's history in order to make itself look/feel good.
Are you calling Steve McQeen British? Also I don't think you'd catch steve trying to escape germany by rowboat.
Finally, now I can finish my swat team leader costume.

LoTR Takes 4 Oscars

· Score: 1
Good films? Crazy, The Oscars has been degraded into an award for mediocrity, were any of the movies nominated this year that great? No, the were just put out by rich producers. Just look at that animation category, Final Fantasy or Waking Life not even nominated over Jimmy Neutron? Right. We haven't had a Great year for movies since 99.
If you want to watch a good film from last year, try these that were neglected by the Oscars(some are not out in video yet):
Ghost World The Man Who Wasn't There The Royal TenenbaumsMetropolis (US Release) The Dish
I work on a team of about 20 people of diffrent diciplines. And we are ususally in smaller sub groups so documentation is quite important. What we do is use our CVS (Versioning System) as a sort of mutating users guide.
We have some specific module definitions so everyone will know where to file what. Ie. General docs go in the General Docs, Netwoking Documents for Product X go in the PRoduct X -> docs modules. This also allows the documentation avaliable to be the most current as well as allowing you to view older versions.
Sure CS students aren't going to use MS stuff, but every other major will. Why? Well at my university Microsoft has a deal where they sell any of their products to students for $5. Is MS being generous? No! They realize that if you use their stuff now you'll continue to use it. And furthermore, as hard as it is to believe, non-CS students don't CARE about issues past "it doesn't work" or "why use ssh when I've got telnet".
I don't see all the com majors running out to use open office instead of Word anytime soon, chemistry students are using excell for lab data, and every professor has PowerPoint presentations for lectures.
Um things like this have been going on for years, during the cold war the cia had xerox implant a survelance device into the copier that was installed in the russian embassy, apparently it provided information for quite a long time. (Thanks discovery channel documentary and my personal boredom)
I've been playing doom and the like for years, yet why is it that time I tried skeet shooting last year I couldn't hit anything? According to this country's moralists I should be a highly trained marksman on par with military elite and Mel Gibson.

I dunno, but it's something to think about.
The shocking part about this story is that Thresh's FiringSquad still exists

Was it Shindler's List?
Oh darn. Now we don't get to see the home made film where Luke and Han try to escape from 35-year old Bill's mother's basment.
Or i could rent wild wild west, but that ain't going to happen.
I like how God is worth $10.46 a day but
gay + sex ($2,239.56 + $3,836.79) is worth $6076.35 a day.
I wonder what "John Lennon" is worth, he may be right about being bigger than Jesus.. heh Ah, stratification is fun!
The Army should just use the font colors wired used in that article mentioned above as weapons, just about burned my eyes out reading it.
