I once moved my mouse a bit and gave a - rather than a +. SH. The metamoderators seem to have taken care of it both times.
Gotta be careful about that. There are metamoderators who label any negative mod as 'unfair'. I went troll bashing with my mod points a couple of times. Lost all my karma and didn't get mod points for months.
Klaus Knopper's Knoppix has encouraged many people build their own distro. Most of these have instructions for remastering the disk and creating a personal Linux disro on a bootable CD.
I'm fond of:
GeeXbox - multimedia player, plays my DVDs on a old machine.
SLAX - based on Slackware, detailed instructions for remastering. Has quite a community around it.
Austrumi - Loads into memory and then ejects the CD. Browser, word processor, Email, multimedia, games, more. It's only a 48 M download, I love it.
Puppy - Good reviews but doesn't work on my hardware.
DamnSmallLinux - Fits on a miniCD. A community is growing around this one also.
>>> Oh, and all M$ products sitting on a shelf are in their original boxes and amount to old copies of WFW and MS-DOS 3.2. >>>
Did you mean MS-DOS 3.3 or perhaps MS-DOS 6.2? 3.2 wasn't the disaster that was DOS 4 but it was a pain. Most companies quickly upgraded when 3.3 came out.
I'm not worried about any knife in the back from IBM.
I once cheered Bill as he took IBM to the woodshed, I loved Win95 *gasp*. But I've changed and so has IBM. They've proven by their actions over the last 5 years that they 'get it'. They are going to take good care of the golden goose.

This is big news but you'll have to go to Groklaw or the SCOX board at Yahoo Finance to see why. The judge seems to be a no nonsense type and he told SCO, in nice legal terms, to put up or shut up. They don't have anything to put up and Blake Stowell has said they are not going to shut up. Lotsa very happy posters at Groklaw and The Board.
I played NIM on a Braniac about 1958. It was six rotating switches; programmed by altering the studs and jumpers. The manual had a nice section on logic and switching circuits and lots of programming projects.
SCO and AdTI are wonderful jokes. If this is the fight part then perhaps an updated version of the quote would read: First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you laugh at them, then you win.

I hear you skinny.
A friend is an independent Volvo mechanic.
He has 3 very comfortable computer chairs built from Volvo seats.
That was on the QST cover during a previous peak about 40 years ago.
Me too. /.

Proud moments for
Not this time tho'.
Not sure why.
This is a sad time for my country.
I hang my head in despair and shame.

Check out the rest of ip-wars.net while you're there. It's a wide ranging discussion of IP issues as they affect Free software.
This is a new site and you can still get a 3 digit UID.
sPh,
Thanks for the header change and the clickable link. My obtuse humor and fondness for ascii sometimes precludes effective communication.

Long time readers of Groklaw will probably recognize these names.
