no, sony's i.Link is a little different -- the cable doesn't carry any power (allowing for a smaller plug on the external device) so an i.Link device is 1394 but needs a different cable and external power.

The fact that there different or not is not what I was talking about.
I find it funny that the company that has the iMac, iPOD, iTunes, iMovie, etc got beaten to iLINK by sony.

The main reason that alcohol isn't taken seriously as a fule alternative is because many people make the claim that it is too expensive to produce. That's like saying the PC would never sell because it was too expensive to produce. Alcohol could benefit just as much from mass-production as any other resource. Some conjecture suggests that the natural temperature in the mid-western states would allow construction of massive solar-powered brewing facilities to produce the alcohol from waste grain, third-grade hops and organic garbage. These types of facilities should be capable of producing enough alchohol to fule the majority of the cars in the US: just from waste resources.

Is it me or did you just describe the american beer industry.

Given that it throws away all legacy ports, I'd say it's pretty short in USB ports. One ofr the keyboard. One for the mouse. One for the printer. So, that leaves you with exactly one USB port (I'm discounting the two USB 2.0 ones). When you throw away your old keyboard and mouse, keep around that old USB hub. You might need it. As for the three PCI slots: Video capture card, decent sound card, SCSI ports. There goes my scalability, I guess....

Well the USB 2.0 ports are backwards compatible and the mouse can and should be chained from the keyboad so yes you have a lot of free ports.
Most keyboards have two extra ports I use one for my mouse and one for my camera.

As for the pci slots the onboard sound looks fine to me.
It has optical ins for god sakes. What more do you want?
It also has an onboard nic card and that saves you another slot.
