  1. Wannabe Darl on Mambo Users Threatened · · Score: 1
This guy is unbelievable. From the article:
They wrongly contend that since the code was put into the "General Public License" pool, it too must be GPL. ... Bottom line: As express permission was never granted, their transfer of copyright ownership without express written authority is null and void.

That is the crux of the matter. Gee, if I modify gpl code and then redistribute it under gpl and the accompanying source, I'm going to get sued for copyright infringement?

I hope the EFF beats this guy with a cluestick if he starts coming after people like Darl, but I have a feeling that he is just waving his internet penis and doesn't intend on doing anything except threatening. Only time will tell.

Gentoo is great though because you can send a friend a cd and have him pop it in and forward port 22 and do /etc/init.d/sshd start; passwd and then you can remote in and install linux for them, or in my case, on a colo that had a bad hard drive.

I like gentoo, but to set it up right takes quite a while and a lot of patience.

Seriously though, I could easily socially engineer anyone. How hard to you have to try to get someone to click on a link? Just tell them it's a really cool site. That was a BIG hole and still is. The FA says that it now opens a finder window to where the program is.

A user could tell a person to click on a "link" and the click on a "link" in the resulting window. I guess nothing in the utilities folder would be bad unattended and not running as root, though.

I don't see how this would be cheating in the single player experience. Cheating is when the company doesn't let me do what I want with property I purchase.

If they are talking about multi-player, whatever. The multi-player in doom3 sucks; they are leaving that up to modders.

I still don't see how it is bad? Are people hiding in shadows and other people aren't seeing those shadows? Wouldn't that make the ones hiding campers? I hate campers.

I think it is a sad day in politics if you have to be affiliated with a party in order to run for office, especially President. The constitution protected our right to hold public office before these judges "modified" their interpretations of it for "our own good".

I think the ballot should have as many people as want to run, perhaps with a petition saying x number of people will vote for me, like 5,000 or so.

This is already how many states do it, but this seems a sad attempt by Jeb's good ol' boys to block a change in the outcome of the 2004 election.
